Anthony Warlock, Beverly Jackson, and Laura Dawson, stood at a bus stop with Beverly's adoptive brother Harry McKinley. Harry was awaiting for the bus to arrive and take him off to his last term of boarding school. Anthony was shooting the small send off with the Asahi Pentax K1000 he got when he was 14. None of his companions well knew why he video taped the little adventures they've had, but they just guessed it was for memories.
"Alright Harry," Anthony reported, "last year of your sad school. Now remember: Don't get murdered, don't murder anybody, eat 3 meals a day, at least, and write to your sister."
"Yes, mom." Harry smirked. Laura's turn to say goodbye. She and Harry reached in for a hug but got all awkward and concluded a handshake would be better.
"Have fun, Harry."
"You too, Laura."
"Alright Laura, move it over," Beverly cut in, "I was his best friend first."
Beverly and Harry did an awkward sibling hug as the bus showed up. Harry seized his red backpack with yellow trim and black suitcase and made his move onto the bus.
"Oh, Harry!" Beverly called. Harry turned and looked at her from the top of the bus steps. "Don't be a weirdo!"
"Impossible!" Harry yelled back, running to grab a spot.
The three friends called goodbye as the bus sped off. Anthony and Beverly headed towards their homes while Laura remained at the bus stop to catch another bus home. Anthony lived in a small cottage was more like someone built multiple rooms, then just put them together. He lived with his dad who was very chill but was mainly at work all day. He and Anthony's mother had divorced and were fighting for guardianship of Anthony for practically a year. Anthony's mom was what they hailed an attention whore and simply wanted custody of Anthony for her image. Anthony's dad, Dave Warlock, wanted custody because he loved his child.
Beverly lived in a single-family home with her foster parent, Silvia Miller, and her foster sister, Tilly Miller. Beverly's foster family was very neglectful of Beverly's physical and emotional needs and didn't truly care about where she was. Beverly's birth-mother, Bellatrix, had gotten arrested when Bev was five and is still in confinement to this day. Meanwhile, Beverly's birth-father is nowhere, Beverly had never met him. Harry used to live with Beverly and the foster family before his biological father, Sirius McKinley, took him back to live with him.
