Jolie's perspective
Mava..- you are just being super minimal with everything, you didn't tell me how dinner with the officials of your branch went,
I rolled my eyes back whilst scoffing my forkful of food,
Jolie..- I love my job but I'm over this industry
Mava scoffed,
Mava..- tell me about it
Jolie..- it's like I'm constantly being reminded by these white folks that I'm good enough but I needed to work harder
..
Jolie..- I've been told that growing up from my peers but I'll be damned to let a white man tell me
Mava..- oh I know that's right
Jolie..- and never wrong,
Flash back
I was about three martini's in and even that was not making this easy, Darryl had dragged me from the bar and took me to a discrete corner.
Darryl..- Carla White and Mark Lord want to speak to you, they're both executive directors in Hong Kong,
I pulled a frown.
Jolie..- do I have to speak to these people?
Darryl..- well duh
He put his arms out,
Darryl..- that is exactly why you're here! M. Jones, you did a great job with but she won't be the one hiring you,
Darryl..- Carla and Mark
He pointed over at the two,
Darryl..- are the two you really must impress.
I looked back at them once more and they looked middle aged, Cara was a tall white woman, she had pale skin that was air brushed and powdered, she looked almost model like, she had a blue red bold lip, wearing a white blouse and long line trousers with a pair SO KATE louboutin heels.
Alongside her was Mark who was just a typical scrawny white man, I could tell his suit was custom by the embroidery on his cuffs,
I was staring at them whilst Darryl was speaking into my ear,
..
Darryl..- speak highly and proudly of yourself
..
Darryl..- I repeat no conversations on fashion school and your plans outside of the firm.
..
Darryl..- sell yourself .. I don't speak highly of many, so make my words and my voice count.
He spun me around,
Darryl..- Go!
Fast forward
