Mercy's POV
I stood with my hands cuffed behind my back, the metal digging into my skin, clearly made to cause maximum discomfort. I winced as the jet whirled the back door pulling open, and white light flashed into my eyes, I closed my eyes and tried to adjust to the light. I felt the plasma gun nozzle jab into my back. I started forward, Senna on my far left with Nieta in the middle.
I walked out onto the landing pad; the sounds of the heartbeats here blended into the whirring of the jet as it powered down. Sounds lost on my distracted ears.
The landing pad was in the center of the Fright Zone, which was indeed where we were. Surrounded by bright light to illuminate the bat wing Horde symbol painted in red on the grey cement landing pad. Tall buildings towered around us, and the clouds were dark, tinted green from the chemicals in the air and the red lights.
I was pushed on past a few soldiers, guns at the ready, watching us as we moved. We were walked towards a light of metal stairs, going up into a canopy of walkways between buildings. I walked at a swift pace up the steps. I felt the vertigo rise in my body with every step as we got higher and higher. The stairs leveled out onto metal walkways branching off in three different directions. I kept my eyes ahead, firmly planted on the doorway ahead, not looking down... It was really high up, and I am a wolf not a bird.
"Mercy!" I turned my head back over my shoulder seeing the soldiers turning Senna right on a different walkway, and Nieta left.
"Nieta? Senna?" Panic rose in my voice as I stopped where I was pushing against the guard behind me. "Get off me!" I snarled, frantically struggling against his gloved hand that took hold of my arm.
The two other guards stopped, Nieta struggling as well, and Senna growling menacingly at her own guard. I jerked back as I was shoved in the shoulder, and I was slow to react as the soldier grabbed me by my shoulders and brought his knee into my ribs. I gasped in pain and keeled over, gasping for breath.
"Get up." He hissed at me and grabbed me by the cuffs on my arms.
Some instinct swarmed through my body and took over my muscles. I turned on my back, sliding my legs back through the loop in my arms, and brought my cuffed hands in front of my chest in a defensive position. The man pulled he trigger on his plasma gun and I lifted the nozzle up with my cuffs and winced as the burn of the plasma broke apart the cuffs.
I kicked upwards, knocking the guard in the chest. He dropped his plasma gun and I grabbed it walking over to him and holding the gun up. "Now you get down." I snarled.
The man slowly got to his knees putting his hands behind his head. The other two guards occupied, keeping Senna and Nieta in check. Nieta had her guard in a choke-hold, while Senna was using her cuffed wrists to slam onto the helmet, disorienting her opponent. I turned to the guard I had on his knees, and taking the gun, I slid his helmet off the back of his head and used the barrel of the gun to smash him across the head. He grunted and fell to the mesh-wire floor of the walkway.
I turned seeing Senna had her opponent on the ground, Nieta still fighting to keep her opponent in the choke-hold. I aimed the gun in his face and glared down at him.
"Listen Punk. You are going to uncuff my friends here, and then you are going to fly us home, and fly back, or we will shoot you out of the sky before you can say Hail Hordak or whatever it is you guys say. Got it?" I listed off.
The guard nodded slowly and held up his hands. I used my foot to slide his weapon away from him, and turned to Senna who was panting, the guard passed out in front of her. I turned back to the guard who was now holding something to my face. A gun. Not this plasma toy, but a real gun, bullets and all. Nieta was frozen where she was.
This was not going at all as planned.
"Put the gun down, or Hordak gets two Wolves, not three." He snapped. Nieta released her grip around his neck and held her cuffed hands up as the guy slowly got up. Senna's heart was pounding as the man pointed the gun at my face.
"He doesn't have to know there were three of you." The guard rasped and put the tip of the gun only an inch from my face. "How would be know? He's a shut in." The guard chuckled darkly; finger taught on the trigger.
I was paralyzed, anger shaking in my hands as if I could wield it as a weapon against him. "I could shoot her too." The guard added, pointing the gun over my shoulder at Senna.
My eyes narrowed, and before I knew it, I had my teeth clamped around the nozzle of the gun, lips peeled back, eyes staring into the glass covering the guard's eyes. I had the nozzle of the gun in my mouth. Nieta was wide eyed and staring at me like I was a blooming idiot. I was a blooming idiot; I had a gun in my mouth.
The guard seemed momentarily taken aback at my actions, heart rate pulsing at elevated speeds. I felt a snarl grow in my chest. He couldn't shoot me, he needed me, they needed us all. Anyway, if they did need me, they wouldn't just let me accept death like this. They were cold blooded monsters, they wanted you to run, they wanted to smell the fear off you. I was afraid, but I wouldn't let them play us like this. If we were going to die here. I'd rather it be now before the headache tore me apart.
"What have we here?"
A voice echoed through the sky walkways, and I went stiff as a heartbeat slowly slithered into existence, as silent as a shadow. I saw something rise up behind the guard, white eyes staring at me. My eyes saw through the dark shadows to see a tall woman wearing maroon and russet robes, a similar mask on her face; black tendrils floated, defying gravity as they wove through the air around her figure. Black hair waving gracefully around her without the wind to create that effect.
"Now, now. Is that how we treat our guests?" She asked, and the soldier whirled on her, ripping the gun from my mouth.
I let out a gush of air and panted, not realizing I had been holding my breath. My mouth tasted of the tangy metal and I rubbed the corner of my mouth with the back of my hand.
"S-Shadow Weaver." The soldier stuttered and stood at attention, saluting.
"Yes. Now go back to your schedule, allow me to escort these young ladies to their rooms." Shadow Weaver cooed. Her voice was like velvet, smooth and cool, but it fell chilling and disturbing. She smelled of mothballs and other strange things I could not place.
The soldier quickly pushed past me, knocking my shoulder. I snarled at him as he passed and watched as Senna slowly approached us stepping slowly with her left foot forward.
"Now." Shadow Weaver addressed us as I pulled Nieta up from the ground. "Follow me." She cooed and turned into the dark hall.
I looked from Senna to Nieta. "We should do as she says. You felt her, she doesn't feel right." I whispered, and Senna nodded.
"Okay." I turned to see Shadow Weaver halted a few yards down the hall, waiting for us. I took a deep breath and took the first step into the hall...
