We had talked about it, about what we would do if it happened. It was a typical 4am topic, brought up every now and then on the phone or text.
We would always end up saying that he and I would stick together. He could fight and I could think. I was fast on my feet and he was strong. He would protect me in the moment, but I would protect him in the long run.
It's not like we really meant it, it was just something to talk about when the nights got long and lonely. He made me promise though, that in the case of a apocalypse ever happening, we would find each other. Him, his younger sister and I would survive.
Or so we said.
