"Hey Kyra." Kyra looked up from her desk. She was finishing up some paper work on one of their inmates. Completely psychotic that one. He had no conception of right or wrong, just what felt good to him. Just what he wanted to do. He was also one of these that felt they knew the word of God better than anyone else. Two dead people later, and four bullets he'd been brought in. To bad he hadn't died on the operating table.
"Hi Tommy." She said to the brown haired male that stood in her door way. He was near her age, just a little older. She thought him a nice guy, but she dismissed him as anything more. When it came to dating, it was a very picky thing for her. Worse than picky, she could only see what that person would bring to the table for her. Her kind was overly perceptive like that. Not just anyone would do, even if your sex drive was revved up. It made for a very moody day being a woman.
She didn't date. She would be looking for one that was mate material when she did that. She'd gone out with people, but always that animal part in her judged and dismissed. It would only accept certain types in her bed. Especially at this time of the month. Other times she could get away with a little less, no worries on getting pregnant then. This was the only time of the month that it could happen, better to be picky and careful. She noted the way that he looked at her, but her cat snubbed her nose at him.
"We just had a new one brought in. Two actually and they need the basic e-val, from you." He said with a smile looking her over for a second as she got up. The smile wasn't saying anything, but she knew he had a slight interest.
"Two? Where's Jonas?"
"He's got court today. Not here." She didn't want two more added to her plate, she had enough as it was. Jonas was supposed to be taking more of the inmates from her. Seeing that she was looking to move soon. She was growing tired of the city here. She wasn't going to age like humans would. She had two to three times the life expectancy that they did. Assuming she lived that long, that she didn't become hunted.
"What were they brought in for?"
"They're only going to be held in the minimum area. They are implicated in possible armed robbery." She just raised an eyebrow. Well at least it wasn't maximum. She'd have to ask who they killed and how crazy they were. Still interesting.
"Age?"
"They look to be around thirty. Neither had ID's on them. Neither has prints in the system either. Doesn't look like this is a normal thing for them." He said.
"So you have a pair of friends who decided to try and get some quick cash by robbing a bank. Chances are neither is mentally unstable, just stupid and desperate. White males, I'm guessing, and with no previous records, probably middle class and recently lost jobs. Families to take care of or something. The normal excuses."
"Well they look middle class, neither likes to talk much. Haven't got much out of them." She gave a sigh and grabbed two empty folders to make files. She took what Tommy handed her that they already had on them, which was nothing. Just what she thought desperate, in need. Probably good people otherwise.
"We believe that they might be brothers. They look alike, think they were looking for a quick fix, hard times and all. Sad to see so many people going to the dark side." He did look sad for a moment, and his sigh made her think the same thing.
"Yeah." Kyra said moving with him into the hall with her writing pad and the folders. This would be quick and easy. She hated when others came in and claimed insanity, she just wanted to roll her eyes.
"You know, there's something more about you today. Can't quite put my finger on it, but you look nice." Inwardly she cringed, nothing seemed to help remove what she was. They always noticed, every month.
