(Reader)'s POV:

I was awakened from my sleep by tapping against the boat. I tossed in my bed, listening to the tapping. The sound seemed to go all around the ship, hitting different points with more or less force. I had a flashback to when Luffy was tapping against the boat, it was random and loud. This was calculated and precise, almost like someone was experimenting.

'How bizarre, maybe I'm imagining things' I said to myself,

The ship began to rock like a gently rocking cradle, I steady myself inside the pod. The boat swayed back and forth, before slowing to a stop. This happened four more times, until the ship finally seemed to stay still. I threw off the blankets and put on a tee-shirt, hoping this was just Luffy playing some kind of jealousy driven prank. I popped the hatch open, hearing what I thought was a splash. Looking around, I was greeted by a starry night and full moon. Warily creeping out, I search the water for anything kind of movement.

"Hello? Is someone there?" silence. "Luffy? Is that you?" I called out, receiving no answer.

Splash! I whipped my head around to the other side of the boat, only to find water rippling outwards. "Luffy this isn't funny" I said feeling uneasy, bordering scared.

Tap, my ear was caught, the sound came from the opposite side of the boat, it was moving around the outside of the ship once again. I listened intently, as the tapping encircled me, slowly creeping towards where I was. The tapping stopped right underneath me.

"Nami? Robin? Please tell me it's you," fear wrapped itself around me. My trembling hands reached towards the guard rail, I pulled myself over the edge, my shoulder blades hung above the water. I stared intently into the black depths searching for any movement, only to be met by the darkness of the sea. After what was an eternity of staring at water, I turned my head away, only to catch something out of the corner of my eye. If only for a moment, something solid moved. I pulled away from the edge, releasing myself from a trance-like state. I closed my eyes, trying to grasp onto sanity, taking deep breaths. Opening my eyes, I pulled together whatever bravery I had. Grabbing the railing, I pulled my body over the ship's edge again. The ocean stood still, blackness being the only color around. My eyes remained locked on the water, after an hour, or a minute, I couldn't tell time anymore, of searching I was ready to give up. I closed my eyes and let out a sigh, must have been some kind of dolphin or seal merely being curious. I opened my eyes, looking down at the water for the last time, only this time to be met by a lone disembodied pair of steel gray eyes staring right back at mine.

"Ahhhhh!!" I screamed, shoving myself away from the edge, I scrambled back to the middle of the boat. BANG! The boat was hit from the bottom, whatever this thing was, it began violently shaking the boat! I was thrown around, nearly falling into the water. The creature kept on, shaking and rocking the ship till the point of almost capsizing. The ship raised on the left side, tossing me over to right, my back was slammed against the guard rail.

"Gahh!" I yelp in pain, the left side of the boat dropped out of the air, crashing back down against the ocean's surface. I whipped my body around, looking into the water for a split second. A hand lunged towards me in a grasping motion, I pulled away, barely escaping the outstretched finger's reach.

Splashes seemed to surround me on all sides. What the hell is happening!? Luffy where are you?! You said you'd protect me! It was clear that Luffy was not coming. The front of the boat dipped down into the water as if something pulled it. Whatever this creature was, it was trying to knock me into the water, like an killer whale does with a seal on an ice flow.

If I fall into the water, I'm dead.

The boat sprung upwards when the tension released. I attempted to balance myself, while stray tears fell.
