The Justice

A week after the apprehension of the robbers, Solomon unknown to most of the officers was an undercover agent working with the secret service. He was immediately put in charge of the interrogation of the robbers.

"Mr Clement Uzor aka The Boss. You're being charged with robbery and murder of six officers and a civilian. Do you know where that's gonna get you?"

Cuffed to the table in the interrogation room, Mr Clement appeared undeterred by the advances of the interrogator to get any information concerning the operation. Smiling for most part of the interrogation.
"Agent Solomon, you clearly don't know who you're dealing with so let me clarify, I know men in higher places who can burn this place to the ground and put you in the ground after taking everyone you love"

A punch squarely to the face was the response, Mr Clement losing a tooth from the impact. Solomon grabs him.

"Don't you dare toss threats in here, it's over for you. You feel me?"
Solomom filled with rage stares at him directly in the eyes then throws him on the metal chair after bashing his head against the metal table.
After a brief moment cleaning his hands, Solomon continued.

"Look, whatever you think is gonna happen, is not happening. What you came for, I have it and the deal I'm offering is the best you'll get. So I suggest you consider your options wisely"

"Get him a towel or something to wipe off his face"
Solomon orders a junior officer who was standing just by the door for the duration of the process.

"Ok Sir" Came the swift response.

Trying all he could to keep his composure, Solomon slowly slid some documents towards my Mr Clement.

"Go through my offer, I'll leave you to it. Have it in mind that there's no honour among thieves , the moment one of your boys start talking, we're done."
He could only draw conclusions of how the interrogation was gonna end base on assumptions in his head as he left the interrogation room.

"My boys won't give you shit!!! You hear me?? You'll get nothing and if you don't kill me now, you're dead when I get out"

Solomon said nothing but instead pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, takes out one, lights it then made his way down the passage that led to the exit.

It's a pretty bright day with the sun directly overhead making the sweat beads on Solomons forehead glisten like a 30 carat Rolex watch coated with diamonds.

Having spent years digging enough evidence to put Chief Douglas Johnson aka the big dog under the rug for good, the documents were the last chip needed and securing it in a less suspicious place before the final hearing in court was the reason why Solomon who was in charge of the investigation came up with a plan to move the documents containing evidence from HQ to somewhere known to only those within the secret service.

Conincidentally Turns out the document Solomon was supposed to collect from Mr Salisu for safekeeping
unknown to him was to be delivered to the same bank Solomon went to gauge their level of security when the robbers attacked.
The document was the last chip of the puzzle the armed robbers needed to eliminate any evidence that will implicate Chief Douglas.

After a quick time off to get some lunch which was quite brief, Solomon couldn't help but wonder if it was luck playing out or something deeper than that. As far as he was concerned, the case on Chief Douglas Aka the Big Dog is a wrap but he was determined to figure out who the mole is.

"Mr Clement, you need to tell me who your informant is, in return, your jail term shall be reduced. I'm going to give you an hour to think about it. Don't forget, the final case against your employer is tomorrow and trust me, it'll do you no good if you don't cooperate"

This time Solomon spoke calmly to the Mr Clement.
"You know, I did some digging, your daughter is pretty young to be without a daddy. I know you don't want her to grow up with the picture of what you are and the associates you keep, trust me this is all over. Tomorrow, your employer is going down, so is your informant and your boys"

Solomon paused for a second, went through some papers in he was holding the entire time, sighs then continued

"It's not looking good for any of you"

Solomon drops the papers and a pen on the table then left the interrogation room without uttering a word.

"That should do the trick" He thought as he left the interrogation room, but on getting to the door that connects to the passage, he paused briefly then turned

"Mr Clement, see you in court tomorow. I hope you make the right decision"

Solomon knew he got to Mr Clement this time around because Mr Clement was someone who had a response for every statement thrown at him and wasn't easily swayed but he was quiet and appeared calm for the latter part of the interrogation.
"That's a plus for me"
Solomon smiled cunningly as he shut the door behind him then whistled on his way out.

"Mr Douglas Dante, with all the allegations leveled up against you, the jury hereby finds you guilty based on the validity of the evidence against you. You're hereby sentenced to 70 years in prison without parole and a fine of 5 million naira"

The judge bangs his gavel and the entire court rises as a flurry of officers make their way in to cuff the robbers and their master.

Solomon smiled carelessly as he stared at Chief Douglas who felt like a god prior to this. It was a huge moment and he couldn't hide his excitement after successfully putting the Corrupt Chief Douglas away for good.

Turns on Mr Clement took the deal, ratted on Mr Douglas and the head of the ICT in the Secret service.

"I kept my end of the deal, I hope you keep yours Mr Solomon Sani. There are bigger monsters more terrible than the Big dog out there, they're all coming for you"

The end is near.

I don't want to sound cliche or anything but I was doing a little thinking today and I don't know how my year would have been without you in  it, I don't even think I was there for you half as much as you were there for me, don't worry I would do better next year😉. Thank you for being so real with me and just thank you for everything, I love you... you're the best literally ❤️

Looking forward to rocking 2021 with you, we might even see... fingers crossed😁.
