PUTTING THE FIRE OUT WAS a real team effort. Everyone that could legally use their magic outside of school used it. Splashing as much water as was physically possible over the burning building. No one said a word as they did that. Instead, they stood there in silence, tears slipping past their eyes quietly.
Dawn felt like there was a hole in her heart. The Burrow was her childhood home. Most of her young life memories involved that home. Not only that, but the look on Molly's face seemed to cause everyone to feel even more devastated. She was wrapped tightly in Arthur's arms, dried tears staining her face, a deep frown replaced her usual wide grin, her shoulders looked deflated as she stood there, keeping her eyes locked on the ground and refusing to make eye contact with anyone.
It was decided that most of the adults would stay back to clear up the mess, whilst the teenagers went off to Fred and George's flat to sleep. Remus wanted to stay, but the full moon didn't allow him to, he couldn't help but to feel guilty even though everyone assured him that it's fine and both he and Dawn should go back home. The redhead, of course, wanted to stay and help her family, but it seemed that pregnancy handed her a ticket home and she listened (since Molly practically threatened to drag her back to the cottage if she didn't go willingly with Remus).
Dawn couldn't sleep that night. Not only was the love of her life experiencing the effects of a full moon, but the image of the Burrow burning down to the ground seemed etched in her mind. Instead, she stayed by the window of her and Remus' bedroom.
As soon as the morning came, Remus practically had to beg Dawn to stay home whilst he would go off to the Burrow, since the more wands the easier it'd all be. As stubborn as she wanted to be, she also couldn't help but feel exhausted and much to Remus' surprise, Dawn didn't put up a long fight and agreed to stay back.
