I was in my locker when I felt someone behind me. I know that perfume. He put my hair on the other side, to have access to my neck.

"Ever heard of personal space?" I asked while grabbing my book.

"I don't believe in that." He placed his chin on the crook of my neck.

I chuckled. "This is not going slow."

"It is, I'm not putting my lips, just my chin."

"Only you." I giggled.

"Seriously, you passed me up, for this ugly troll?" Megan mentioned.

We turned around and saw her fuming.

"Oh sweetie, he doesn't like trashy girls like you. Get over him." I told her.

"You're going to regret this!" She screeched and then stormed out.

We laughed.

"I like that you speak your mind. You surprise me everyday, little one." He smirked.

"Well, that girl is annoying. I'm still surprised you slept with her." I said as I  closed my locker and then face him.

"We all make mistakes. But I'm not into random hookups anymore. I want something real." He smiled as I smiled too.

"You have a way with words, Derek." I pinched his cheeks.

"Okay, you and my sister are the only ones I'm allowing to pinch my cheeks." I laughed at that.

"Aww, I would love to see her pinching them." I chuckled.

"How about, we have a coffee date and after that, I will take you to meet her. Unless you prefer movies and dinner."

"Oh please no, I mean dinner is fine, but movies are a little boring to go to, especially when there's nothing good nowadays." I replied as we walked to our classes.

"My kind of girl. I also think movies are boring when there's nothing good."

"How about this, let's have a date at your house, I can cook and that way, your sister won't be alone with her nanny's. And we have fun the three."

He stopped and looked at me. "This is why I knew, I made the right decision in opening up to you." He gave me a kiss on my cheek. I smiled.

...........

I arrived home and found Dery and Chad making out.

"Don't you have a room for that?" I asked while walking towards them.

"I do, but your dad doesnt let me be alone with Chad in my room."he sighed dramatically.

I chuckled. "Dad isn't home, but then again, the man sometimes shows up early." I added.

"That's a good thing, you have a protective and caring father. Most people don't." Chad told us.

"Are yours bad?" I asked curiously.

"Oh no, they're amazing. I'm just talking in general. But they applied the same rule, I can't have Derek in my room." He pouted. I chuckled.

"You two are way horny." I rolled my eyes, they just laughed.

"What's going with you and Derek?" Dery asked me.

"Well, we kissed in the men's bathroom. and then today he asked me on a date. We have a weird relation."

They laughed.

"I think you will do him good. Derek is not the type of guy to let someone in so fast. You must be pretty special." Chad told me.

"My Nika is the best, he's a lucky guy to have someone so caring and unique." Dery added. I smiled at him.

.........

The night of our date arrived. He picked me up and took me to his house. When we entered, he was met by a little girl, jumping in his arms.

"I missed you, you doofy." She hugged him tight. I chuckled. It was too adorable.

"I did too." He kissed her cheek.

She looked at me and gasped, "that's the girl from the picture!" She covered her mouth.

I chuckled, "I'm, Nika."

"I'm, Malia." We shook hands.

"Now let's get cooking, I'm very hungry." I said as they laughed.

"Ohh ohh, me too. Can I help?" Malia asked.

"Yes, you'll be my little helper." I told her as I grabbed her hand and she showed me where the kitchen is.

Derek

"Mr. McCartney, you have found a lovely girl. She's a keeper." Leyla told me.

She's one of Malia's nanny's. She's 57 and is just the sweetest. She has been more of a mother to us than our own mother. She has worked with us since I was a baby.

"That she is. And please, call me, Derek." I hugged her and then went to the kitchen.

"She's lovely, I think these two will last forever. I've never seen him so happy." Crissy told her.

Shes 48 and is also Malia's nanny. They're both very sweet and kind. That's why I'm okay when Malia is at home with them. Crissy is the one who goes with the chauffeur to pick her up at school.

I entered the kitchen and saw them placing everything on the counter. This view makes me happy. My ex never liked Malia, said she was annoying. But with Nika, everything is just amazing.

"I'm going to cook chicken!" Malia said excited as she held the chicken and opened the legs wide. We laughed.

"Anyone want nachos?" I asked, they both raised their hands.

As they worked on the chicken and mash potatoes, I went to make some chilli for the nachos. I felt two hands wrapped around my waist.

"You look hot cooking, you should become a chef." She giggled.

I turned around and smiled, "I'm actually going to study that."

"That means free food." She said while wrapping her arms on my neck.

"Yes." I leaned in to kiss her, but we were interrupted.

"Oops." We looked on the floor the salad. "Sorry."

"That's fine, salad can wait for another time." I told her.

"Phew." She wiped her forehead. We laughed.

After an hour, everything was ready, we sat at the table and enjoyed a very different kind of first date. But a fun one.
