When dark forces enter her world, she is forced to stand up against them. In fact, Eira wasn't that unwilling to do so. For once, she'll no long...

Why.
Why.
WHY!
Eira's vision had cleared but she didn't want to see what she had done. The icicle had pierced his skin and it was stuck in his chest. Her cheeks were dry, her tears no longer falling as she watched Jason's horrified and pained expression falter with every struggled breath.
The feathers broke away from his limbs and he fell back. Eira reached out, trying to hold him but her fingers slipped past his.
"Well done, Eira! You won!" Ms. Taylor clapped.
Eira's stomach was doing somersaults. She was sick to the stomach. Sick at what she had done, sick at what Ms. Taylor had done.
Everything hurt. Every nerve inside her seemed to burn.
"Eira!"
A voice woke her. It was a strong voice. It was one that she will always remember for the rest of her life. She flicked her glance back and there was fire. There was lightning.
She heard Ms. Taylor's gasp as she dodged to the side. The swan, however, was unable to dodge fully. The lightning struck near it's belly, causing the swan to shirek in an alarming pitch.
Eira resisted the urge to block her ears, there was something more important for her to do.
"Now!" Jason's voice, strained but clear.
She raised her hand and the ice shook like an earthquake. The ice around Ms. Taylor's body melted and Ms. Taylor toppled down. She desperately grabbed for the edges of the ice but Eira gave a strike of her ice magic, forcing Ms. Taylor's fingertips to lose it's grasp.
Ms. Taylor released a laugh before it was cut off. She slipped into the water, all that was left of her were circles of ripples. The swan, seeing it's master at their doom, spread it's wings and took off, rocking back and forth in the air before it disappeared into the clouds.
Eira stifled a groan, releasing all the ice powers that were once controlled. It was no longer controlled. It belonged to her.
Her powers were exhausted, but it didn't matter to her anymore. There was a dangerous recklessness in her actions, but she let it go.
She pushed her palm on the floor and felt the frost link every particle it could touch. The damaged ice floor extended, crawling to the edge of the lake and covering every trunk with a layer of white. The water beneath gave faint protest, but the particles were pulled together. The opaque force spread and spread... until the whole lake was facing it's inevitable, frozen death.
Eira let out a short moan. Her arms strained, her tears bubbled out her eyes and fell like a stream. She felt her energy trickling away, her powers had turned the tides and kept going, having the belief that they were incapable of resting.
