Mattia was hesitant to reply, having to type out a whole paragraph of how he felt, only to delete it again. He hated how he felt towards you because of your guys past relationship. The typical "best friend crush" was from both you and mattia, but everything became one sided when feelings started to drain from you.
After 8 months you decided that it was best to just stay "friends", which shattered the boys heart. To hear those words come from your mouth was painful enough for him to lock himself up and cry for days. You knew how he felt and you wish you didn't do that to him, but it was better now than having to waste his love on someone that wouldn't return it in a way...he wanted it to be.
You were afraid that something like this would happen between the both of you, trying your hardest to avoid the situation, but you couldn't help but agree to dating. You weren't too sure but you told yourself a lie that you love him that way. A way he wanted, a way you wished you could love him, but it didn't work out.
You tried and tried to find at least some type of love you know that would be enough for him. But you couldn't and it got harder and harder each day he said "I love you"
Each day he said "I want you"
Each day he said "This what I'm asking for".
Oh how you wished you could slap him across the face to say that it wasn't worth it, but being the stubborn person he is, he wouldn't hesitate to argue. So this was the best option for not only you, but him too.
After a few days mattia got over it, and he accepted the offer of becoming friends again. Mattia's trust and sibling like bond started to slowly build back up and he was happy to still have you by his side. But every day he had to hide those feelings, pushing them down in hopes that maybe one day they'll go away completely, but he knew that as long as you're around, they weren't going to go anytime soon.
