The owner of the diner is a woman named Maria Smith. She's in her early fifty's and the twenty six year old woman considers Maria as a mother figure, because her mother died when she was only 8 years old.
She was the one to actually witness her mother's death.
Well back in Portland, the truth was that her mother had been pinned to sealing with blood pouring out of her stomach, then all of a sudden her mother was set on fire, which lead to the woman's house to be set alight, destroying the entire house and everything in it. Luckily, her father found his daughter and carried her out of the house in time before she or her father had ended up just like her mother and his wife.
"Savanna? You alright, child?" There was a soft voice that came from behind the blonde, which made the latter jump out of her skin in surprise because she had been lost in her own thoughts to even notice that someone was there.
The voice belonged to none other than Maria Smith who was in her early fifty's, who also wore a worried, yet concerned, look on her wrinkled face at the young girl's composure.
"Yeah sorry, Maria. I was just off in my own world for a second there." Savanna replied back in an apologetic tone.
"Oh nonsense, child." Maria brushed her apology off immediately, "It happens to the best of us." Maria assured and managed to put on a small smile on her lips. The woman was just worried for Savanna and her wellbeing, that was all.
