"And where have you been?"

You who had just arrived late at night yelped at the stern voice of your mother. She was there on the sofa with the television on that was playing her favorite drama and you had to resist the urge to call her out too. She can stay late at night but I can't?

"I-I was... with Aizawa-kun..." you stuttered out a lie.

Your mother rose her brow, knowing you were lying.

"Fine, I was following this guy the HPSC told me too..." you mumbled.

Your mother sighed deeply in disappointment. "You know? I'm slowly regretting to have you joined the Heroes Public Safety Commission. They're clearly sending out a young boy such as yourself on a dangerous mission! What if you get harmed? Or... killed?" you whimpered at your mother's distraught.

"Mom, I- I really love doing this," you pleaded, your eyes turning glossy and had the feeling to sniff. Your mother saw what you were doing and sighed again, clearly swooned by your cuteness. "My quirk was said to be creepy but the HPSC... they think I have the ability to become a hero, mom."

At the age of 5, when you got your quirk. Everyone around you saw what you could do and started to distance themselves away from you.

Your quirk was called 'Sink'. You could dive into any shadows and stay there for a day and could even follow moving shadows. Your quirk was good for stealth and hiding but the society dubbed it as "creepy, invasion of privacy, and all in all, weird." The quirk that you'd grown to love, others had grown to hate.

Your appearance did not match with your quirk, surprisingly. Everyone thought your quirk was related to light or ice. Your hair was as white as snow, and your eyes clear white like the clouds.

"[m/n]..." your mother called out. You looked down then felt a pair of arms snaking their way into a hug and then you felt warm. "...I guess I can't keep this from you too.." your mother grabbed a piece of an envelope and you grasp it.

"That's one step to becoming a hero, [m/n]. I'm proud of you," you gasp.

It was a letter of recommendation from U.A! You couldn't believe it! You were one step towards your hero career!

"Mom!" you finally broke down and sobbed. "I-I can f-finally be a h-hero, mom!" and your mother joined you.

It was currently 11:25 late at night. You and your mother had just bust out crying over your work.

---

"A-Aizawa-kun!" you nearly tripped on your feet while running towards your friend and both of you go towards your school. "I have good news!"

"What is it?" Aizawa mumbled. He was never one to talk loud... or normal. He prefers to stay quiet and away from any energetic activities or anything that might deplete his energy. He was an epitome of a couch cat.

"I- I got recommended to U.A! See?" you nearly used the paper to slap him in the face, had it not been him stopping you on time. "Wow, congrats, [m/n]." Aizawa gave you one of those rare smiles that meant he was genuinely happy. He was genuinely happy for you.

"I'm finally going to start my hero studies there with you! Remember? You're also going to U.A, now we could go there together." you grinned. You slung an arm over the boy's shoulder and together both of you walked towards your school. Side by side and filled with energy.

---

"It's been fifteen years..."

The day was filled with endless rain and dark clouds. Aizawa stood in front of you with a solemn gaze. His eyes were almost tearing up when he looked at you.

Crouching down, he put the flowers beside you and sighed. He patted your stone then walked away.

"Fifteen years since you've never come back..."
