A/N: I've never seen this before, so I'll give it a shot.

Hi! I'm Devin Ugliano. I have dark brown hair and hazel eyes. My mother is Trisha Walters. You may be wondering why she has a different last name. Well, you see she used to date this guy named Gabe Ugliano, and they had a kid. Me. She never told him that she was pregnant with me, thankfully, when she was 2 months pregnant with me they broke up. He was abusive, alcoholic, and just a plain jerk my mother told me. He never knew about me. Now apparently he is married to some woman named Sally Jackson-Blofis. (I feel bad for her) I was lucky enough never to meet him and grew up with a loving, kind, nurturing mother.

Today, before my mother left for work she told me something that shocked me. We would go and visit my father. I am was not excited. When I came back home from school I got a call from the police, telling me my mother was dead. The school she taught at was in a school shooting. She was shot while protecting her first graders. They told me that I would have to live with some relative they found or something. I told them though that I would live with my father, and that I had his address. I did have his address. She left it on the counter. 249 Midtown Rd. New York City. For a while I just sat there and sobbed. Then I realized that if I stayed there CPS would come and collect me so I had to head over. So, hoping my father changed I walked over to his apartment. It was just six blocks from mine. I made my way over and knocked on the door.

A teenage boy with black hair and sea green eyes answered. It was Percy Jackson. He is the hottest, most popular kid at Goode High School. Everyone knows who he is. I wondered why he answered.

"Hi come in," told me gesturing for me to enter. "What's your name? And what can I help you with?"

"Hi Percy. I'm Devin U-Ugliano I go to Goode. My father is your step-father. My mother d-died and I was told to come live with my f-father." My voice was wavering and then all of a sudden I broke down in sobbs again. I had lost my mother, she was dead. The only person that I ever knew. Dead. The one that took care of me. Percy started to rub my back and brought me in for a hug.

Just then a middle aged woman with brown curly hair and beautiful kind eyes walked into the room. She saw me, and looked at Percy, still comforting me. She rushed over and started to hug me and rub my back. Percy started to tell her what I had said.

"Okay so I don't mean to give you any other bad news, but we feel you should know. Your father was an abusive, alcoholic. He died a few years back." Percy told me while I sobbed.

"S-so n-now my f-f-father is d-dead too?" I asked. He nodded gently as I sobbed.

"Percy go grab her a cookie and some water," the woman ordered. Still hugging me muttering words of comfort. Percy stood up and went to the kitchen.

"Here you go. Trust me even though they're blue they are still amazing," he told me handing me a glass of water with a blue cookie. I took it and started to nibble on the cookie. By that point I had started to calm down.

"Thank you. I'm sorry for how my father treated you I will find somewhere else to li-," I started but the women cut me off.

"No. You will not apologize for your fathers doing. I will make up a bed and you can stay here for tonight. We will make sure you have a place to stay with food and a house. I am sorry for what happened to your mother. I am Sally Jackson-Blofis by the way, and please call me Sally," she told me walking out of the room probably to go prepare a bed.

Just then Mr. Blofis walked into the apartment. He stopped and stared at the scene in front of him. His step-son comforting one of his students while she was eating a cooking, sitting on his couch. "Hello, Devin. What are you doing here?" He asked looking at me.
