24. Melinda Jackson Part 2

We've just reached the cabin's circle and everyone was getting claimed by one of their grandparent legacies. None of the others who were already here were claimed before. I guess the gods wanted to save it for one big moment. Henry was claimed by Jupiter, his sister Elle as well, their youngest sister Julia was claimed by Aphrodite though. Mars claimed Finnick Zhang, but his older sister Xan was claimed by Pluto though. Mable Valdez was Hephaestus and I'm not surprised, her sister,  Casey was also Hephaestus, Anthony Solace-Di-Angelo was Apollo, while his younger sister, Winnie was Hades. The Rodriguez boys Ben and Dalton were claimed by Ares, whereas their sister, Rylee was Hermes. The Stolls were Teddy and his cousin Oscar was claimed by Hermes, while Teddy's sister and brother Quinn and Isla were Demeter. Oscar's sister, Gabby was claimed by Demeter. I was claimed by Athena, Violet, and Liam were claimed by Poseidon. Since our parents had already been here they were claimed. 

My mom was Poseidon, my dad Athena. The Grace's Kelly was Aphrodite and her husband Nick, too. The Zhang's Peter and Susan were Pluto, while the Valdez's Ursula and Zander were claimed by Demeter. Yaamir and Rachel Rodriguez were claimed by Hermes along with Trevor, Denny, Beth, and Corey Stoll. Greg and Lizzy Solace-Di-Angelo were both claimed by Apollo shockingly. 

Now, as everyone led us to the lake, I got a good look at every one. I realized that I'd look like an exact replica of Annabeth, down to the last detail if it weren't for my sea-green eyes and prominent jawline. Now that I think about it, everyone looks almost like a replica of one of the originals except for a few features. We reached the lake and went off to our however many greats it is grandparents. My family was with Percy and Annabeth. I found where I get my sass from. They are SASSY, my weird humor no one else has, not a clue. 

Anyway, Percy told us all to concentrate. As I concentrated I felt a weird pull in my stomach, as if it were trying to pull down my organs. I opened my eyes and saw that there was some water floating, just an orb nothing too dramatic. Everyone looked around and gasped. Henry was flying, Zander and Mable were on fire, we were missing Finnick, I saw Winnie talking to some skeletons, and Gabby was growing plants. 

"I wonder why Athena claimed you if you can control water," Percy mumbled.

"Isn't it obvious Seaweed Brain? She is a powerful legacy, so both wanted her, she had the water control, but the wits those are brighter. I could tell by her sitting down when you told everyone they may want to sit. She did, probably thinking your titles would be longer since you complain about saying your titles, and you went after me, which normally means more," Annabeth explained. 

"Yep, I definitely knew that," he corrected, with a guilty look on his face. 

"I'm sure. Anyway, Melinda, why don't you drop the orb, so we know who else is doing it. If you feel a tug in your stomach, open your eyes, this way we'll know," Annabeth said.

"Sorry, but um what should we call you? I don't really want to call you by your first names since your my great-great-great-grandparents," I say.

"Oh, we were going to have you call us by our first names, uh Perce and Beth, that's what you'll call us!" Percy exclaims. 

"O-okay," I respond. 

"Alright! I think that's enough! Tomorrow we can either do this again or use some weapons. Your choice, anyway, at the end of the week there will be a capture the flag game! So we best be prepared. It's us against the Hunters, camp, Luke, Bianca, Zoë, Charlie, Silena, Micheal, Lee, and Ethan. Got it? It's gonna be hard! Why don't we go shower, then head to lunch?" Annabeth shouted. Everyone nodded except the riginals. That's what I'm going to call the now. The Originals.
