Yet again, my day started with me waking up at a ridiculously early time, pushing the snooze button and turning over again.
"Shit" I mumbled to myself as I realised I only had half an hour to get ready for work. I slept too long after my alarm! At least the coffee shop was only 5 minutes away. Once I was ready, I ran to the café and was just about on time.
"Lucy?" My manager called out
"I'm here, I'm on time don't worry" and off to work I went.
It's weird working in a coffee shop because you get to know people who come in every morning for their before work coffee. Like, Luke who always gets a chocolate frappe in the morning and pat who gets a white coffee at 12:15 everyday. But the person I remember most is Niall, with his beautiful blonde, messy hair like he just woke up, blue eyes that seem full of mystery and his smile that seems to be hidden by a feeling I can't quite see. He comes in at around 1:30 each afternoon so only 20 minutes.
I saw him coming round the corner into the café. He looked different. His eyes sparkled, his hair was done properly with product and he had a great big grin on his face. He looked amazing!
"The normal" I asked him and he nodded in approval. As I was making his drink, i told him I would bring it to his table as he was sitting in.
"Here you are Niall, your order"
"Thank you so much, Lucy"
"So you doing anything nice today, you look very smart?" I asked him
"Well... actually um... I was going to ask you something, it's taken me a while to pluck up the courage to actually say this but, would you um... like to go to dinner with me... like a date sometime?" Niall said. WHAT. I never thought he would ask.
"Of course I would that would be great, thank you!!" I beamed
"Okay great, call me" and with that he scribbled down his phone number and left with a huge smile on his face. For the rest of the day I texted Niall and we planned our little date for next Saturday.
