unexpected gift

molly allowed ron to come stay the night at your home. you have 11 extra bedrooms, so your family has made it very apparent that anyone that is a friend of mine can always stay. you both hopped off of your broom and took a secret side entry that opens to a staircase up to your room.

your older brother had built it for just in case situations. but now you and your friends use it so you don't have to walk through the entire mansion to  reach your room on the third floor.

"i'm home mom!"
you called down the regular staircase.
"oh and ron's here !"

"sounds good love. you revived a gift box while you were gone. it's signed the malfoy's"

your eyes widened. you and ron made eye contact and ran down the stairs as fast as your legs could take you.

when you reached the bottom, your mom was holding a silver box. you quickly hugged her and grabbed the box. when you opened it, there was a white rose, a snake emblem pin, and a note. you unrolled then piece of parchment and read aloud the note:
dear  y/n white,
as neighbors, and both families being full bloods, i would think we would have introduced ourselves by now. i, Lucius Malfoy, my wife Narcissa Malfoy, and my son Draco Malfoy would like to acknowledge your acceptance into hogwarts.
this is a very large deal in a young witch or wizards begging. Draco just received his letter as well. both first years. i expect you both to get along well. we will be in touch,

the note seemed to be a little odd, but you didn't mind it. however, when you read draco's name, ron got a nasty look on his face.

"draco is a stuck up little spoiled brat. he thinks he's above everyone"
ron said under his breath

"now now, ronald. let's be nice. have you met the child ? maybe he isn't as bad as he seems. both of you need to give him a chance."

you put the piece of parchment back into the box and put the top on.

"there is dinner on the table, you may eat upstairs, however i do expect both of your rooms to be tidied up in the morning. after all, we do have to go pick out everything on both of your school lists."
your mom told you and ron

your family does have house elves, but they work voluntarily. they treat them like family. not like everyone else that just uses them as maids and then shoves them in the corner. however, since they are so close to your family, they know that ron could put eat everyone of your family members. they always make sure to put an extra helping on his plate.

you both ate, then got ready for bed.

"y/n, thank you so much for letting me stay. you don't treat my family like others do. your the best friend anyone could ever have."

you smiled from ear to ear and hugged ron goodnight. you laid down in your bed and prepared yourself to tomorrow.
