What the hell Raye! How could you do this to me?"

"Look, I said I was sorry! Forgive me, please!"

"But how could you?!"

"I said I was sorry."

"Well, sorry didn't keep you from cheating did it?"

(He punches the wall nearly knocking a hole in it).

"How many times do I have to apologize?"

"Until you feel the way I feel right now Raye! After all we've been through, really?!"

"Gen! Listen to me! I love you and that's the reason why I want to marry you in the first place. From the first time I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one I'd spend the rest on my life with. So please, forgive me!"

"If you love me so much then why did you cheat Raye?"

"Gen," he said desperately, "I'll do anything, just please don't leave me. I promise this will never, ever happen again! I promise! Just please forgive me!"

"Fine Raye but you're sleeping downstairs on the couch."

I lay in my bed thinking about what occurred, I turn on the TV and begin to see what movies were on. All of the sudden, I hear a noise that sounded like it was coming from downstairs. I heard it again, but this time, it sounded like it was getting closer and closer to my bedroom. I turned off my TV to be sure of where it was coming from. Sure enough, it was in my house and now, it was in my bedroom. The closer the footsteps got to my bed, the faster my heart beat. Then a voice called out my name. It seemed familiar to me. Maybe it was my brother or something but then I remembered that Giovanni is stationed in Iraq. The voice called out again. This time it sounded more familiar. I hurried to turn on the lamp on my bedside table. When my eyes adjusted to the light Raye was standing at the base of my bed with bloodshot eyes. He must have been crying.

"Ugh, fine, you can sleep in here but only because I heard a noise and I get scared easily."

Instead of getting into the bed, he got on the floor and grabbed a blanket from the closet. I wondered why he didn't say anything. But then again it was 5 am and neither of us had gotten any sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. It was Giovanni.

"Hello?"

"Hey lil' sis! How's it going?"

"Fi....fine. How are you?"

"Oh I'm good. Hey, tell ya what. I got a surprise for you!"

"What is it Gi?"

"Open your front door."

"What... don't you know how early it is?"

"Look, don't worry about that just open up the door."

"Okay fine I will. Talk to you later, bye!"

"Bye Gen."

I sluggishly walked down a flight of spiral stairs past the massive living room and opened the door. There stood Giovanni with a gift and cake in his hand.

"You remembered my birthday!"

"How could I forget, you've been bugging me about it for the past three months."

"Well at least someone remembered it, I doubt Raye even knows...why don't you come in. I don't want you standing out here."

I turned around to invite him in and Raye was standing beside me with flowers and another gift for me.

"Raye you remembered! I'm so sorry.I thought you...."

"It's okay. Happy birthday Gen."

Out of nowhere the back of the house burst into flames. When I turned around, Giovanni was on the ground dead and Raye was standing in front me with a bloody knife in his hand. I saw a look in his eyes that would haunt Freddy in his dreams.

I woke up again. Raye was lying next to me in the bed sleeping. It kind of surprised me that he had gotten into bed. His blanket was still on the floor where he lay last night. He shifted towards me and I pretended that I was just waking up.

"Happy birthday Gen." he says as he pulls a small, rectangular velvet box from under his pillow.

"I was going to wait until you got home from work today but I just couldn't. I hope you like it"

I opened the box and inside was a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet.

"Of course I love it, its beautiful Raye!"

"I knew you would. You better get ready to go to work or you'll be late."

I looked over at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It was almost 11 am. I rushed out of bed and into the shower. My mind flashed back to the image of Giovanni dead on the ground and Raye with the knife and I thought to myself, "Thank goodness it was just a bad dream. It was all just a bad dream. "As I look to my left and see Raye still sleeping there peacefully.
