I ran and ran and ran. Just to get away from that house. I heard screaming in the distance. 'Nope.' I said to myself. It sounded like april. Screaming. It pierced my ears and sent a shivering tingle down my spine. But as I kept running. My heart beat increased and my legs began to feel wobbly. I couldn't help but wonder how this all came to be. I finally slowed down in the dark woods to think aloud. "Am I insane?" I pondered. "Did I hear or see what I think I did?" I must be crazy. I turned around and a woman's face was straight in mine. Cold and pale. With dark holes for eyes. Raggedy hair with blood stains. Cuts and bruises from her face to her feet. She startled me. And screamed. "LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME!" and ran through me and disappeared.
It scared the living hell out of me. I was definitely insane. I went for my staff but it wasn't there. I didn't grab it on the way out. 'Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!' So if I wanted a weapon. I would have to go. Back to the house. Where the creatures lie. With my heart still racing. I ran back to the house hoping that the pale woman wouldn't be there. And my brothers were okay.
I stumbled into the yard almost out of breath and walked on to the porch. Took a deep breath and opened the door. The door creaked open. "Hello?" I said aloud. Hoping for an answer. A sign. Anything. I walked in slowly. But it was empty. Something terrible was going on. I'm not sure what. But I would find out. Even if it was the death of me.
