Chapter 2 For Teague

Mina could hardly focus on ,what they decided to call, the Teague council. Which only consisted of predicting Teague's next moves and how best to organize and keep Fae safe. Half the council wanted to put people into hiding and a forth want to create an army of Fae. The rest didn't know what to do or tried to come up with other ideas. None of them were good. Every solution was met with unease and the last option was to get him in the Fae world and split him again or to kill him.
Every time ever or Nix said his name Mina felt her hand reach up and stroke her bottom lip. How could he kiss her and try to kill her??? Why was he kissing someone he hated? It was down right arbitrary. His whimsical ways made her want to kiss him back or slap him. Oh why did I let Teague ever kiss me?!?!
Every stopped and stared at her. She turned bright red when she realized she said it out loud. She turned even brighter red when Ever said "when did he kiss you?!?" Even though it was a few moments ago Mina decided not to tell them."when he was still Jared..."
"But then you would have said Jared. Not Teague!" Ever retorted. Mina could tell she was gonna flip. " he's the same person isn't he?"
Ever left her alone after that but she was still fuming.
"I need to get in bed guys and Charlie needs to be tucked in too..." Mina said after another hour had passed. The council had dispersed within a minute not wanting to discuss in any awkwardness. As ever passed she slipped Mina a note. Except not with out sending a promising death glare first. Mina wished Teague could have fallen for Ever. Maybe then Mina wouldn't have the love she felt for him. Or maybe she could love Brody in the way she knows she loves Teague. Maybe if they could find the answers to her problem then they could stop Teague and save him. Maybe he could love Ever...
Her heart literally almost stopped right then and there. How could she possibly be able to think about who he loves while he ran around with blood chants in his head? Mina refused to think her shocking wave of feelings was for anything else.
Mina shook her head and walked to the outside porch. She needed to clear her mind and get a grip. Mina took a few shaky breaths. With each breath she counted to 3. Why were her thoughts so scrambled?

She nearly jumped 6 feet in the air when someone touched her shoulder gently. It was Brody Charmicheal. Now Mina wished she was 6 feet under. She had just been thinking about Teague. Well and Brody... No her thoughts were mostly surrounded by Teague.
"You okay, Mina?" He asked softly
"Yeah I think I'm fine." His eyebrows knit together
"You think."Brody stepped closer.
"Yeah."She turned her back away from him.
"I know what will make you feel better..." Brody continued.
Heat rose to her cheeks. What was he saying????
Brody stepped in front of her and took her hand. If he wanted a kiss no matter if it made her feel good she wouldn't. Not again. Not if she might live to regret it. Mina came to terms with her crush on Brody. He was simply that a crush. And Teague? What about him?
"Mina..." Her mind snapped into focus. No. Not ever. Teague probably had feelings for her from Jared and that would endanger Brody.
"Come to a party with me." Mina wasn't expecting that one.
"Um... I ...um cant?"wow. Real perfect just what she needed. A stutter.
"I'll pick u up tomorrow at 5 Mina." With that Brody walked away. Mina blushed further realizing that she thought he would kiss her. He probably would have she realized. If she had let him. She told him through her stiffness and distance a definite no was in order. But now she wished she hadn't. But she was glad she did. Because of Teague. For one reason or another.
