The thoughts moved so fast that Teague's head screamed. The jostling arguments bumped clashed and exploded so much that an atom bomb was a joke in comparison. The pain between his ears burned and if it didn't stop soon well, he might be done for good. his hands started to tremble and his knees began to buckle under his weight.
"Revenge on the treacherous snake that her days may be lived in hell!"
"Don't harm her! She's the most amazing person and she's the only one left you can love! Don't you dare even think about touching her!"
Teague clutched both sides of his head and dropped to the floor. The run down buildings wood floor scraped at his knees leaving small splinters. Then he remembered. The mirror. It helped when things got too bad. He hauled himself across the floor by his elbows almost out of breath by the time he reached the centuries old trunk. It reminded him of a treasure chest and he used to love pirates for some odd reason. His fingers shook as he shuffled through it.
"It's funny" he thought to himself "breaking mentally, physically wears you out"
Finally at last his fingers grazed the smooth surface of her mirror. As soon as he had touched it the shouting stopped with only one whispered word. "Her" surprisingly he said it out loud. With his last ounce of strength he had he lifted the small mirror. The mirror was light and smooth, coaxing and cold. Why on earth did he keep putting it in there so far away from where he could run his hands across the crystal surface?
He turned leaning his back on the trunk. After hesitating he flipped the mirror so he could look at it. At her. Mina was in the Fae world. His heart skipped a beat when she turned allowing her face to be shone and to shine. Oh how his heart started to ache! He had put an enchantment on the mirror so he could see her even in the Fae plane. He even got the sound to work so he could hear her soft spoken voice. It sounded slightly distorted from the Fae plane but the sweet peaceful music of her was medicine to his broken ear drums. While her voice helped his head it broke his heart all over again. In fact it did that every time she spoke. She only spoke out against him. He didn't want her against him but, he thought, I really do in ways no one can describe... Stop it.
"Please! Some one listen to me!" Mina begged. "He's out there's wrecking havoc destroying lives but if we ban together we can defeat him once and for all!"she raged on.
"If we stand in his way we'll get hurt!" A pixie spoke up.
"We're the weak ones we're useless!" Shouted a gnome.
"Yeah just... pawns" this time it was a nymph.
Mina squared her small shoulders and rose her chin higher so she could properly stare the crowd down.
"I am Mina, I am a Grimm. Life was never easy. But never say you're weak, never say that.Yes, you're considered a pawn." Her voice now laced with magic was spellbinding Teague couldn't tear his eyes from her glowing beauty. "How ever, does that matter? No one is invincible. Even a pawn can take out a Queen." Mina not realizing the power of her plain existence, she left her parting words as just that. Parting words. She turned and left.
.................
Mina jumped through the portal just in time to miss the ogre's club. That was a close one!
All was quiet. She was so used to the buzz and hums of the Fae world that it seemed eerie to be back home. She didn't realize how much she like the Fae plane until she stood there on the roof looking out at the wild. She could smell the mixed perfumes of dried paint and green fresh forest. She inhaled deeply and choked back a sob when she tried to breathe out. It was all to much. Teague was out there destroying the world or who knows what as we speak and hardly a handful of Fae were strong enough to help them. Most don't even consider it. Mina turned around and sat with her back to the brick wall. It was weird being in a new house but, she was ecstatic to find the passage that led to the roof. She moved a few things up there already. Lawn chairs (like her last rooftop hideout) a small book case and a mirror that had survived the night mare her old apartment had after it caught fire. She brought her knees to her chest and let her head hang between them as as she softly started to cry. Some one opened the door to the roof. It's heavyweight hinges squeaked as it opened. She could se the dark shadow of tall muscular outline of a man. He silently sat down next to her.Mina must have been up here longer than she thought cause she told Nix to be there at 8. She welcomed the silent comfort of the Nixie and leaned into him. He put his arm around her. She held onto the sanity she was loosing ,for Nix. If they made it Brody would need her too. And Charlie. And her Mom. And Nan. And Ever. And..... She stopped there for fear of frightening herself out of being brave. She let her mind go blank and her body numb as she listened to Nix's heart. Then she fell apart clutching his shirt and letting herself cry hard enough to get it out. He lightly kissed the top of her head. A strange gesture coming from Nix. It was meant for comfort but it only made her cry even harder. His shirt would have to be washed. She drifted into a light sleep. During her nap she got cold and climbed onto his lap. He put his other arm around her too and she gladly sucked in his warmth. He put his chin on her head and breathed deeply. She curled her bare feet around his jeans and was grateful he was there. His heart quickened. And she was slowly brought to awareness. And she realized something. Nix was wearing different clone. And the faint smell of chlorine wasn't stuck to him. His fluid laughter was absent. But she was still comforted by a familiar presence. She didn't want to give away that she woke up. But she was still slightly frightened because the sun hadn't set. So it wasn't 8. Nix was never. Ever. Early.
She felt his thumping heart beat faster (if that was possible). She looked up to see Jared's pale grey eyes lock onto hers. His dark black hair sweeping over his forehead in the breeze. She reached up and traced a finger down his chiseled jaw. His tan skin was as smooth as ever and his eyes held nothing of what he felt. Mina started to touch him. His hair, his cheek, his chest, neck and shoulders, just to make sure he was real. She blinked her eyes and rubbed them. She even pinched herself. But no, he was real. Then dark blue crept into his gaze. Ruining the moment. His eyes were so beautiful so she couldn't look away. The shades of grey and blue swirled around and danced. "No." Mina whispered. His eyes weren't dancing they were fighting. The warring personalities fighting for their side. His lips pulled back in cross between a sneer and genuine smile. His pearly teeth shining in the light. But then his eyes stopped frozen where they were. It was Teague. Before she could decipher what the intensity in his eyes meant, he closed the distance of their lips. His hands moved to her neck and he deepened it. Mina snapped to her senses. Teague was not going to get to kiss her again. She gently pushed on his chest no wanting to hurt the Jared part of him and (much to Mina's embarrassment) crawled of his lap.they both stood up. He flashed her a cashmere cat grin.
"To good a kiss for you?"
"N-no!" Mina stammered
" then what's wrong babe?" He smirked at that and Mina's temper flared to life.
"Look creep. You came into my roof and YOU planted one one me. What's no to be ticked off about?!" Mina continued.
"And no one deserves to be kissed by the likes of you." She's never admit it was because no one in the world alive or dead deserved to be kissed by an angel. Even a hot one of darkness. Wait-what???
"I never asked if you were mad." He was still grinning.
Mina stepped forward ready to tell him off but his eyes flashed grey in the fading light with all to much concern.
"Mina don't step closer!"
"Why?" Now she was confused.
"Because I'll hurt you." With that he disappeared and was gone it a poof of smoke and she realized Nix had come up to the roof. "Are you okay? You've been staring at nothing for a few minutes now... Brody, Nan and some nymphs are down stairs..."
Turning she said in an usually bright tone "oh I'm fine."
"Anything happen here?" Nix asked still worried.
"Nope" Mina said popping the 'p'.she followed Nix down and slowly she realized what happened. Teague happened. Wonderful dark sexy Teague.
