Y/n's POV:

Dumbledore led us outside into the yard and climbed onto thin air. I looked at him startled a bit, tilting my head in confusion. He chuckled quietly. "They're called thestrals. Only people who have seen death can see them, I hope you'll never experience that my dear." I nodded my head slowly, mulling over his words. I turned to my mother whom was crying softly. I went and hugged her tightly. "I love you mom. I promise I'll be safe, okay?" I looked into her tear filled eyes and gave her a reassuring smile. We hugged for a minute before Dumbledore cleared his throat. "I am so sorry to break up this tender moment, but Hogwarts awaits my dear." I sighed, holding back tears. "I'll write mom. I love you, see you at Christmas!" she nodded her head, more tears rolling down her face. "Bye Honey. If you need anything just write, okay?" I waved goodbye and turned towards Dumbledore. He extended his hand and helped lift me up onto the creature. As we went into the air I waved goodbye to my mom one last time. "See you soon!" I yelled excitedly, with tears in my eyes.

*Many hours later*

We finally landed in a small courtyard behind a building. After helping me getting off the creature Dumbledore led me to a brick wall. He took out a long pointy stick and tapped the wall 3 times. A hole formed in the bricks, widening by the second forming an archway. Dumbledore led me through it confidently, as I sheepishly followed behind him. "Alright Miss Stone. I have your list in your bag. You have as many Galleons as you'll need." I peeked in my bag and grabbed the piece of paper. "You'll find me at the Leaky Cauldron after you finish buying your supplies, good luck my dear." I looked up at him and nodded. "Thank you professor." I said quietly. I headed down the dark ally to find my first stop.

I found Ollivander's pretty quickly and walked inside. In the store it was dimly lit and smelt like wood. I then see an elderly man who looked slightly crazy. "Ah, you must be Miss Stone. Dumbledore informed me about your arrival. We are very excited that you will be attending Hogwarts. Come to find your wand?" He asked. I nodded not knowing what to say. "Come here my dear, let's try this one." He said as he handed me a stick that was a wand. I took it not knowing what to do with it. "Well, give it a wave my dear." He said. I waved around the wand he handed me and everything on the shelf started to fall off. "Gosh I'm so sorry sir, I don't know what happened." I said feeling a bit guilty. "That's quite alright, it just wasn't the right wand for you." He said smiling as he went to get me another one.  I could tell he was a little apprehensive about giving me the next wand. He handed it to me and I did the same as instructed last time. This time papers flew. "No, definitely not that one." He said as he got me a new wand. I held it and this glowing orb surrounded me, I didn't know what to think. He smiled and said "That's the one. The wand chooses you my dear." I smiled knowing that I had found the one. He started saying, "The wand is one of a kind, it is a Black Walnut Wood with Unicorn Hair core." I looked at him puzzled, not quite comprehending that unicorns were real. I just smiled at him and thanked him and walked out going to my next stop.

*More hours later*

My last stop, the pet store. I headed over there and looked into the window to see an adorable kitten that caught my eye. It was a peachy orange with light blue-green eyes. I rushed into the store and picked up the kitten right away. I took it up to the counter, petting it gently with the tip of my finger. The man at the counter spoke up. "Ahhh. A British Short Hair, good choice my dear." I smiled as I looked down at it, it's eyes locking with mine. "What gender is it?" I asked curiously. He chuckled. "A boy my dear, what are you going to name him?" I tilted my head, thinking about it. A name popped into my head and I smiled. "Leo." I said excitedly. "Good choice my dear. Good luck at Hogwarts!" I smiled again. "Thank you!" I said as I ran out of the shop and headed to the Leaky Cauldron.

Next stop, train station.
