Rosie has been one of my greatest friends since I could talk. I would support her in anything else but this. I don't want her getting hurt. I know for a fact Tristan likes Silena. I read it in his journal from when we were ten. Here's the entry.

Dear Journal, something incredible happened today. We were at Uncle Percy and Auntie Annabeth's house for a pool party, and while I was swimming, I noticed Silena wasn't there. So I looked around, and she was reading under the big oak tree in the corner of their big backyard. So I got out of the pool, and flew into the tree. There's this branch that was directly over her, so I decided to scare her. I hung upside down and stole her book. Then she yelled at me until I gave it back. Then she read the book to me. She said it was call Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I liked it. Mommy got the other books in Greek for me, but I don't want to read them. At least Silena's not mad at me because of that beach trip when we were seven. When Uncle Travis has me and Kaden and Trevor dig a huge hole and then Silena fell in it when we set a towel over it.

Okay. Dad says I have to go to bed now. Bye Journal.

It was in Greek if you were wondering.

Anyway, he's liked her for six years. I don't want Rose to be heartbroken. I know her, she's going to try to break them up. Luckily, I told the girls. The Fall Masquerade Ball is coming up, and I finally convinced Tristan to ask Silena. We have it planned with our friends too. So while Sil and I are cheering, the rest of the group, who's going to be in the front of the bleachers, is going to prepare.

Esperanza is going to stall Rose after the game, and get back just in time for Tristan to ask Silena. I just hope Rose doesn't take it too personally.

I'm in the girls locker room, changing into my blue and yellow cheer uniform. Unfortunately, coach changed up the look of the uniforms, so the skirt got a little shorter, and the shell (the top) is shorter as well. It's hot for a September afternoon, so we aren't wearing our liners, making the shell a crop top.

Silena looks a little uncomfortable, but pulls her hair up into a high ponytail before asking for help with her bow. She helps me with my bow, and then we grab some poms before cheering and tumbling out of the locker room. Silena does a roundoff back handspring. She's insanely good at this kind of thing. I quickly do a couple cartwheels and join the rest of the squad in the middle of the field. The JV squad is dancing and shaking their poms, as Sil, me, and the rest of the Varsity squad begins to stunt.

Silena's a flyer. So there's two flyers on either side of the pyramid forming in the middle. With me on the top. I wish I wasn't short.

I spot our friends, sitting up front. Rose scowling at Silena, who was oblivious. The pyramid begins to collapse, but that's normal. The two people holding me up thrust me upwards, where I do a middle split mid air, then do a high kick, holding my foot up as they catch me. I lower my leg and they throw me up one more time and lay down midair before they catch me and set me on the ground.

Yeah. Varsity stunt is complicated. We shake our pom poms before tumbling off the field.

Silena and I make our way to our friends. Silena sits down beside Rose, who gave her a fake smile.

"Hey Rose." She says.

"Good job Silena." Rose tells her, through slightly gritted teeth.

"Hi Rose." I wave at her.

She glares at me, but smiles. "Jasper! How did you not fall doing that stunt?"

"Practice." I shrug. "Hey Sil, we gotta go. The team's coming out."
