Chapter 3

I rolled my eyes. This guy does not care what, or if, I eat. He is another man that wants to control a woman. He sure has an obnoxious way of going about it though.

"Didn't your mother ever tell you its rude to roll your eyes?" He asked. He was leaned back in his chair, enjoying his wine.

"Didn't yours tell you that you can't always get what you want?"

"No, because I always do get what I want. Especially when it comes to women."

Ew. "If you always get what you want, why couldn't you have just spoken to me? Like a regular person?"

He paused for a moment, staring at me. I felt uncomfortable, and looked away quickly, looking around the massive room. "What is it that you do?" I asked, geniunly wanting to know.

"Business."

"Business?"

"Yes, there is a family business. I run it. No more questions from you." He stated firmly.

"What kind of business?"

He stared at me irritably. "Try the wine. It's good."

"I don't drink red." I replied, looking away.

He didn't seem too bothered, he just picked up his glass and leaned back into his chair. "That's very rude. Especially to someone who took care of you while you were sick."

"I find it rude you won't give me my belongings back. I need to speak to my boss."

"He is not your boss anymore."

I banged my hand on the table, tears leaking from my eyes. "Please! I've worked so hard." This was not really true, I played a good amount of candy crush on the clock.

"And now you don't have to anymore."

"Well I need to talk to my friends. They've got to be looking for me!"

"I texted them to tell them you got sick and couldn't travel. A sinus infection, what a pain." He rolled his eyes theatrically as he continued to unfold his scheme to me. "Once you're better you're gonna do some traveling, you know. You have to live your life before letting some secretary job tie you down."

I sat, dumbfounded. How could he have suddenly gotten complete control over my life? He stared at me, like we was waiting for something. "You packed a lot of clothes for your vacation, but of course you'll be here for a year. You will need more. Eat and we can go shopping tomorrow."

Well, when he said I was stuck here for a year, I thought he meant stuck in this castle. Guess I can leave tomorrow. I picked up my fork, and stabbed it into a green bean. He stared at me as I shoved it in my mouth and ate it.

"More." He nodded towards my plate.

I put the fork through a cherry tomato this time, repeating the action.

He nodded in approval now. "Steak."

I sigh and picked up my knife, sawing a bite off before I eating it. He nodded towards my wine glass, and I picked it up for a sip.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him stand up and walk towards me. He stood next to my chair, just staring down at me. I put down the glass and swallowed, then looked up at him, expectantly.

Our eyes stayed locked as he bent down, putting his hands on his knees. I chewed nervously on my lip from the sudden proximity. He let the silence linger for a moment, he was just staring at my face. He stroked my arm lightly, landing on my wrist.
