Chapter 7

FLASHBACK,

Guddan's parents were lying on the stretcher and she was yelling for the help of doctors. Their blood claded bodies were making her restless. She sees a doctor and joins her hands infront of him as if begging to save her parent's life. The doctor examines them and looks at Guddan with pity expression.

Doctor: Accident bohot hi khatarnaak tha. Kaanch seedha dil ke paas laga hai. Kisi cardiac surgeon se hi inki surgery karani padegi.

Guddan: To karaiye na. Kuchh bhi kariye lekin mere Mummy Papa ko bacha lijiye. Please!!!

Doctor: Is hospital me koi bhi cardiac surgeon filhaal available nahi hai.

Her father who was lying subconsciously held Guddan's hand covering it with blood.

Aditya: Meri..meri beti hai na....Doctor...Doctor Guddan.

Gunjan: Hamari beti... Guddan hamara surgery...kar...karegi. Karegi na Gud...Gudiyaaa???

Everything got blurred and Guddan started screaming for her parents.

Guddan: Mummy!!! Papa!!!

She woke up with a jolt forcefully opening her eyes. Her whole body was covered with sweat and she looked around to find herself on the bed and Antara sleeping peacefully beside her. She looked at the clock and it was already morning. She went to the washroom to freshen up.

Guddan: Guddan!!! Calm down!!! Wo sirf ek sapna tha aur kuchh nahi. Relax!!!

She was roaming all around the rooms lazily just to free herself from the thoughts of the dream when she witnessed a slip of paper on the table. It was the list of colleges which Antara brought for her that she had to select for herself. She crumbled it and threw it on the floor. But then she again remembered her dream. Her parents words were resonating in her ears. As much as she wanted to get rid of those, she was again being pulled towards it. Lastly, being left with no other option, she picked up the crumbled piece of paper and opened it to take a look at it.

"Doctor Guddan."

Her father words again reminded her of their dream which she now dreamt for herself. Vowing to herself, she decided to work on the dream for her parents, for her sister, for herself.

Guddan: Sirf Di hi nahi, aap donon ka sapna mai bhi poora karungi. Poori shiddat se mehnat karungi, jee jaan laga dungi aap donon ke is sapna ko poora karne ke liye. I promise aapki ye beti, Doctor Guddan ban kar dikhayegi. Mission Guddan se Doctor Guddan banna shuru kiya jaye.

She started doing research on all the colleges with utmost determination. After looking after the education system and the other facilities, she chose one college among them. She visited the college's website for further details on admission. She was deeply indulged in the laptop's screen when she felt a hand on her shoulder which made her jump in fear and she shrieked out.

Antara: Guddan, shaant!!! Mai hun!

Guddan: Kya Di, dara hi diya aapne!

Antara: Tu itni jaldi uth gayi? Aur subah subah ye laptop pakad kar kya kar rahi hai?

Guddan: Wo college details nikaal rahi thi.

Antara: College?? Kounsa college??

Guddan: Jisme mujhe admission lena hai.

Antara: Te..tera admission?? Are...are you sure???

Guddan: Aap ko kya ho gaya hai? Aap nahi chahti kya??

Antara: Nahi, maine to bas aise hi poocha.
(Thinking): Isse zyaada sawaal jawaab kiye to ye apna faisla badal na de. Pata nahi isne kya soch samajh kar ye faisla liya hai.
