"So be honest," Jake told Amy, "were you really gonna destroy my car?"

She shook her head negatively.

"No. I was gonna drive it. So I could learn stick."

"You wouldn't," Jake responded with a tone of fake offense.

"I would. Would've been like," Amy did a weird screetching noise and made him chuckle.

"No, no!!"

Suddenly, he placed his hands on hers and they both leaned down as in to hide from someone.

"Hey, there's our guys," he whispered.

"What's the play here?" Amy asked.

"Just follow my lead. Give me the ring," she took the ring off and placed it on his hand, "now give me some nuts. I'm snacky."

___

Jake and Amy stormed furiously in front of a truck, the place where their guys were ready to do their illegal business.

"Alright, fine, darling! I'll ask him. Will that make you happy?" Jake faked an angry tone in his voice, while yelling at Amy. He cleared his throat and made his way towards a man.

"Excuse me, sir-"

"We're kinda busy here," the man interrupted, but Jake didn't buy that crap.

"Yeah, my girlfriend, here, thinks we're lost-"

"-No, I know we're lost! I think he's an idiot," Amy yelled back at him. The man was standing there, listening to their fight, not understanding a damn thing.

"Idiot?! In the middle of the night, Susan? I was gonna propose to you! On the Brooklyn Bridge, where we met," Jake said in defense.

"Brooklyn Bridge?! We met on the Manhattan Bridge," Amy scoffed.

"You know what? This is over! Say good-bye to the ring and everything it represents!" Jake threw the ring away and she fake-gasped.

"You son of a bitch!"

Seemed like their plan was working, as another -tougher- man walked closer to them and told them to stop yelling.

"Hey, no one talks to Susan like that!" Jake yelled at the man this time and pulled her close to him.

"And you know what else? On the ground! NYPD!!"

"NYPD!" Amy repeated and pointed her gun on the tough man's head.

"You're under arrest. Nice work."

"You too."

"I'm sad y'all arresting me, but I've gotta say, I'm glad you're back together," the not-so-tough man said. Amy and Jake looked each other awkwardly.

Together.

A word in the specific sentence that made Jake feel things. And this time it was definitely not Taylor Swift making him feel that way.

___

The next day, back at the precinct, with a big surprise on her face, Amy realised that Jake was there before her. All she could think was how? After she stood there, in front of him, with a dumbfounded look on her face.
