*So, here's a list of the kids and their nicknames

Narrator

His eyes flutter open when the sun from his window peaked through the curtains. He groans and turns on his other side, also bringing the cover over his head.

"Joshy! Stony! Get up! It's the first day of school!" This earned another tired groan. "Ugh, leave us be, Joey," the eldest boy groans out in annoyance while his twin was still asleep.

His sister huffs and puts her hands on her hips, squinting at him.

"It's the first day of school!" She starts to shake Joshua awake, since he was on the bottom bunk bed.

He growls and throws the blanket off of her in irritation. "Ok, 'm up! Are ye happy or what?"

"What time is it anyway?" Langston adds, sitting up in bed and rubbing his eyes.

Jordin looks down at her watch. "Nearly seven." Josh sucks his teeth and begins to go back to bed, but Jordin snatches the blanket away.

"Why are you up so early?" The younger boy whined while studying his sister. Jordin was already in her uniform and had pulled her hair back into a ponytail and her orange headband. 

They're her favorite accessory.

"Are our mums awake at least?" Jordin shakes her head. "Nope. I wanted all of us to already be ready before we wake them up. Let them sleep in longer."

Langston hums, "Could've warned us about it last night. Now, we gotta wake the demon."

"One, two, three, not it!" He and Jordin say simultaneously, making Josh whine again. "I always have to wake him up," he mutters while getting out of bed.

Jordin turns to leave, going to wake her other brothers.

When she approaches the room, she was surprised when Amelio comes out while yawning, dressed in only his half-buttoned uniform shirt and underwear.

"Joey, ye seen me trousers anywhere?" Jordin furrows her brows, "What're you doing up this early? Josh was just complaining on how he had to wake you."

The boy smiles at her, "It's the first day of school and I canna wet to go."

"Are either of them awake?" He shrugs, "Leon was up, I think, but he might've been sleep talking." Jordin giggles.

Leon has a small habit of sleep talking and would say some pretty funny things. Sometimes, his siblings would talk back to him and they'd have a whole conversation.

Albeit, weird and nonsensical.

"What did he say this time?" Amelio then giggles, but shrugs. "No idea. Didn't sound like he was speaking English. But have you seen my trousers? You never answered me."

"They should be in your closet... with your shirt, tie, and sweater," Amelio pauses then hurried back into the room, closing the door.

"Oy, wake them up for me while I get PJ," she says right before he does. He simply nods before shutting the door.

By nine, the entire family was awake and the children were all dressed and eating breakfast. Lerrie busied themselves packing their lunchboxes while Jadesy entertained them.

"You guys excited?" Jesy asks, earning almost everyone's affirmation. "JT?" Jade asks the quietest of the kids. Josh lifts his eyes from his plate of barely touched food.

"Are you a'right, pet? You hardly ate." Josh sighs, looking at his parents. "Aye, just nervous," he says softly. "Awe, it's okay. Your siblings will be there with you."
