Leon cried himself to sleep.

Now, he's lying in his parents' massive bed. Pez held him close, playing with his wispy blond hair. Her wife was in the kitchen, preparing his lunch for when he wakes up.

Jade's heart was heavy.

Way before the kids were born, they had hoped none of the kids would experience what her and Leigh experienced at a young age. Leon never questioned why his brothers and sisters are a few shades darker than him.

He knew he mostly took after his Mammy while his twin looked more like their Mamma.

Sure, they're a different kind of family; seven mixed kids with four birth mothers sounds anything but ordinary. All that matters is that they're there for each other and look after each other.

While Jade fixed the sandwich, she felt a pair of arms snake around her waist before a chin parks on her shoulder.

"You okay, love?" Perrie asks her wife in a soft voice. The older woman sighs deeply, "I'm just... worried. No, I'm scared," she corrects, turning in her wife's arms. "It's okay to be," Perrie nods. "We're nipping this in the bud now so you wouldn't have to worry anymore."

"Baby, this is gonna worry me regardless since it happened to one of our kids," she says in an exhausted, sad tone. She was on the verge of tears.

Perrie wraps her in a hug and she just breaks down, crying into her shirt. The blonde felt like crying as well, but doesn't for Jade's sake. The older woman's shoulders tremble and Perrie rubs her back.

"It's gonna be okay, love," she says quietly. They stand like this for another minute until Jade calms down and breaks away to wipe her face.

"Him nor them are gonna suffer from this ugly situation. If it ever comes up, they're gonna walk with their heads high. They're beautiful no matter what color they are. We're gonna teach them that. Okay?" Jade sniffs and nods, "Okay." Her voice came out stuffy and hoarse.

Perrie smiles and gives her a soft kiss on the lips. "Why don't you draw yourself a bath while I finish here?" She gestures to the sandwich.

Jade shakes her head, "It's fine. Really. Thanks, though." Perrie kisses her nose, "I'm gonna go check on the little one." Jade nods and continues making Leon's lunch.

The blonde walks into their room, seeing their youngest boy was still fast asleep. He had cried so hard, every few deep breaths were an audible shudder. She sat next to his head and smooth his hair back before placing a kiss on his forehead.

Shortly after, the boy's bright blues flutter open and the first thing he sees is his mom smiling at him. "Hi, Mammy," he croaks, rubbing his eyes with his small fists.

"Hey, baby," she says in a soft voice. He sits up, sporting Mammy Jade's Diana Ross tee that stopped at his ankles. "Are you hungry?" He nods and she kisses the crown of his head. "Mammy Jade made your favorite." The child looks at her with hopeful eyes.

"Samwich?" She nods fondly and he hurriedly scoots off of the bed and runs straight to the kitchen.

He sees the woman cutting off the crusts and he gets beside her, hugging her legs. "Aw, hey, handsome," she greets him, hugging him back. "Hi, Mammy Jeed," he says, trying to see what she was doing, but he was too short.

"You make me samwich, Mammy Jeed?" He asks cutely and she hums in affirmation. She scoops him up in her arms then picks up his plate, setting both down at the large table.

She fixed him his favorite; PB & J sandwich with a little pile of grapes and carrots and a cup of apple juice. When she sat him down, she kisses his head again.
