"Hey! We have a newbie today!"

Oh, how Lee Heeseung didn't know the weight of those very words.

He was pushed into the ring, tasked to choose someone to fight. Too naive, too innocent about the things that hadn't affected him before.

He scanned the fighters of Flicker, all of them way more experienced than he was. Flicker, a fight club that was notorious for being "high-class", yet they were also known for having some of the best, who wouldn't hesitate to throw a punch. Heeseung was surprised they let him in so easily.

A shorter, stocking built, tattooed man stood in front of him. Definitely no.

A tall woman stood to the side, anxiously tapping her foot.

The man that announced his arrival pushed him forward, urging him to choose.

Heeseung's eyes then caught sight of a girl near the back. She was swiftly wrapping her hands up, her shortcut inky hair falling over her face.

She didn't seem the least bit interested in his introductory fight as she walked over to the punching bags.

And Heeseung didn't feel the least bit intimidated by her. He wasn't sure whether it was her big eyes or her rose tinted cheeks.

"Her," he angled a pointed finger at the girl, causing her to pause and glare at him-eyes turned sharp.

Cheers erupted from the crowd, yet a couple booed. He had heard laughter, but at the time he didn't know who it was for.

He watched the girl sit on the edge, unlacing her marker drawn on sneakers. Cute. The tall woman stood by her, scowling in his direction.

The front-desk man nudged him, trying to hand him hand-wraps. But, before he could take them a voice interrupted.

"Suhwan, he won't need those."

Why not?

The bell rang.

"Don't hold back, Jiji!"

Heeseung froze. Don't hold back?

But, before Heeseung could properly process what he had just heard,

-She punched him on the cheek. Hard.

He held his cheek, starting to taste copper. She striked his stomach. A weak hit to his nose.

His eyes watered. He blindly threw an arm out.

She ducked and kicked his legs out from under him. Barely sweating she placed a knee on his chest.

And that was the story of how Lee Heeseung ended up with a bloody nose, bruised cheek and aching back.

"Win for Jiji!"

Some jeered for the short fight while others yelled, just happy to see Minji fighting someone once again.

Minji slipped out the ring, heading to the back room

Minji slipped out the ring, heading to the back room. She watched the tall woman walk in with a water bottle.

"Thanks, Lin."

"You did well out there..."

"But?" She asked, playing with her shoe laces.

Lin sat down beside her, "Should I be worried for you? Why'd you take him down so fast? Boss wouldn't be happy if he saw that and even you usually enjoy these."

Minji pursed her lips, "He just shouldn't be here."
