"St James High?!"
Sungjong shrieks ever so quietly that he looks like he is about to faint. Myungsoo did not mean to shock him. He just answers the question posed by his seat partner who seems persistent to know what his former school was.
"You are kidding me, right?" Sungjong continues to express disbelief as Myungsoo packs his pencils. "Do you know that if this is a lie, I will really smack your head?"
Myungsoo sighs with an amused smile. "I don't think it is that kind of a great school like you're imagining right now."
"Jinjja, this guy. St James is one of the top schools in Seoul. What the hell are you doing here instead of being there?!"
"Hajima, Sungjong-ah."
Sungjong turns his seat to face Myungsoo. "Yah, jinjja! I cannot believe anyone who gets into that school would ever leave! I heard how hard it was to get accepted to that school. I mean, there are some idols there-"
"Idols again?" Myungsoo leans back and crooks a brow at him. "Is that what makes you think it is a great school? Not about academics but idols?"
"My favourite idol went to that school, omo! She posted so many places in that school which, I must say, so Insta-intended. And the food, it is almost like a five star hotel's cuisines! Daebak, I wish I knew someone from that school so I could sneak in and get as many Autographs as possible!"
Myungsoo shakes his head mockingly. "Aigoo, what should I do with you? You are totally obsessed with idols. Do you plan to be one?"
Sungjong giggles. "Don't I look like one?"
"Actually, you do. I'm surprised, you know, that you don't have girls attacking you right now. It is lunchtime, after all."
Sungjong blinks hard as his smile fades away. Myungsoo notices the change and he wants to ask Sungjong further when Sungjong stands up and nudges his head to the door, signalling to leave the classroom. Myungsoo nods and stands up as well. The students in the classroom are getting lesser as they speak, probably because all of them are heading to the cafeteria.
As the two lads walk out of the classroom, Myungsoo pockets his hands and glances at Sungjong for a few times. It seems that he might have asked a sensitive question. Sungjong's mood dampens instantly.
"Yah, Myungsoo."
"De?"
"Don't expect the cafeteria's food to be as delicious as your previous school," Sungjong forces a smile.
"A-ra. I'm good with anything."
The two of them climb down the stairs and Myungsoo happens to see students shooting awkward glances at them as they whisper away behind their hands. He wonders if it is about him again. They probably think that Myungsoo is using Sungjong as a shield.
That very thought becomes disturbing as the looks he is receiving are neither about admiration nor pity. It is more of teasing and mocking. Myungsoo cannot help but involuntarily glaring back at them.
Sungjong catches his cold gaze, snickering silently as he is surprised that behind that handsome cute face, Myungsoo can be intimidating and scary. Sungjong hopes he will never see an angry Myungsoo in the future.
"Stop that, hajima," Sungjong bumps his elbow at Myungsoo who jumps startled. "Don't ruin your image on your first day of school."
"Aish, what are you talking about?" Myungsoo replies in denial.
