As we road on that train, I started to get nervous about the school, nervous that I wouldn't fit it. I mean I was the brand new girl, coming in my senior year to a school of wizards and I didn't even know any magic. Hermonie comforted me as we rode along, eventually until we got to the school, where she guided me out of the train. Stepping onto the new grounds, I took a deep breath in, not really comforting but it was worth a shot, other kids got off the train as well. "A lot of them are freshmen, you're the only older one that has to be chosen into your house," Hermione said with a smile and grabbed my hand pulling me into the school. Everything was stone and gray brick, it was such a sight, we started walking up the staircases with all the freshmen until we hit the top of the stairs where you could see the corridor leading into another room, the doors were huge and quite scary. "This is where you will be picked for your house, you may not be in the same as me, but I promise I will be there for you and help you whenever you need." As the freshmen stood behind us, the doors opened and I looked at Hermonie with a nervous expression. "You're fine! I believe in you, and we will stay friends no matter what." I nodded and walking into the giant room absolutely filled with other students to the brim, there were four sets of tables with various kinds of kids. The room went silent as we walked in and everyones eyes rushed forward to see the new kids as they walked through the sea of tables. In the front of the room were all the teachers, that's what I'm assuming atleast. Hermonie had disappeared from my side which I did look for her, she was sitting at a table with two other boys, whom must be Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, I waved at them and they waved back. Once we walked to the point where we could no more, an old man stood up and walked to the podium with a women, whom had a hat, it looked very creepy but I wasn't going to judge at this point.

"Welcome to the school of Hogwarts, my name is Professor Dumbledore, and this is Professor McGonagall." She looked at him with a smile as he did the same back. "Today will be a day where you freshmen get picked into your new houses-" Another man came up to Professor Dumbledore and whispered in his ear. "Ah, I see." He looked down upon us new kids. "Once you all are sorted into your groups which are Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Gryffindor and Slytherin, the feast will start. Are you ready?" Dumbledore said while all the kids nodded and the tables started roaring in excitement. "We will call your name and you will come up to the front to be chosen into your house." Professor McGonagall said then started calling out names. "Adam Serva." A kid from the back of the group walked forwards and sat in the chair where the hat was place on his head, "Your head is full of thoughts, you are very short-tempered, daring, but you have a lot of nerve within you." The hat said, which really threw me off, since when could hats speak? After a breif paused the hat had made a decision, "Gryffindor!" The crowd cheered and the boy walked to his table meeting the other members of his table, when they all sat back down a new name was called. "Freya Jagamore." She walked up to the stage and the hat sat on her name for a minute and then exclaimed "Hufflepuff!". The crowd when wild again and the girl went to her table, meeting everyone. The names went on and on, as they picked the new comers to come and get sorted as I kinda zoned out here and there waiting for my name, but it was never called. Eventually, it happened to be that I was the last kid left while everyone started at me. Professor Dumbledore looked down upon me, as I looked up at all of them and then looked all around me. "Great." I mumbled and looked back up at the teachers. "What is your name, dear one?" The old man said in a very calm voice. "My name, my name is uh... Autumn Winters. I'm new." The man looked back at Hagrid who was looking at me, then looked over at Professor Dumbledoor and nodded with a gentle smile. The Professor then looked back at me and offered his hand, so I walked up and took it, I was nervous as ever now. The old man bent down and whispered something to me, "Don't be so nervous young one, let the hat choose and don't fight it. After this I will have you come with me and Hagrid so we can talk about the school." He smiled at me and then Professor McGonagall had me sit down and layed the hat upon my head. "A new one has come to the building," the hat said, I had wished the tone was a bit quieter. "This one is tricky, I think I know but I need to be sure." I looked around at the tables, the kids all looked at me with excitement in their faces but at the same time I  could tell they just wanted the sorting to be over with. "Autumn Winters aye," the hat said and it seemed that he was even just as confused as I was. The room was silent and I hated it. "You have courage, ambition and I am sensing that you do not care what other people care as for you have fought to prove yourself your whole life." Then hesitated again. "I know where you shall go... Slytherin!" The tables all cheered again, and I looked over at Hermonie, she nodded and clapped but I could tell she didn't approve. I walked over to the table and the kids all came to greet me and hugged me. It felt nice that people were actually excited for something that involved me, I sat down and the feast began. "So Autumn, what year are you?" I looked up at a kid who had big teeth, black hair and just looked very weird. "I'm a senior but I guess I am late to the school, he smiled which made the teeth just look even bigger. "I am a senior too along with most of these other kids," As he looked down the table so did I, then looked back at each other. We all ate and talked, well just to the people that were around us. When it was time that the feast was over, all the kids left and Professor Dumbledore pulled me aside. "Let me explain everything to you as we walk." I nodded and we started to walk down the long halls, I felt for the first time that I was meant to be in something and it felt so right.
