"anais, right?" a blond haired boy called from behind me.

"alex, i haven't seen you since graduation!" i flipped around and greeted the tattooed boy. i see this family has a love for vandalism of the skin.

"i would've never guess you getting with my brother. by the way, this is my girlfriend—"

"maddie!" i engulfed the frail female next to him into a big hug.

"nicey, it's been so long! how are you?" maddie and i had been neighbors in elementary school before she had moved a town over. our families failed to keep contact and i would see her once in a while when our schools would face each other during volleyball season.

"what i small world," alex says to himself before taking a sip of his drink.

"can you get me another drink, babe? what are you feeling tonight?" maddie turns to me.

"pink moscato please alex. thank you." alex gets sent off to voyage and maddie gives me another right hug.

"you don't need anymore babe," maddie glared at alex.
"i guess dominic likes girls who drink wine," she went on and joked. while catching up with maddie, she showed me to our vip table. it was front and center looking down at the stage. men unpacking speakers and setting up microphones were at work, with dom's logo signed with columbia records.

"i guess you knew the one before me well," i scoff.

"she's here." she says before taking the last of her drink back.

"she is? why the hell would he ask me to come too?" i cocked my neck.

"oh no, girl. i wouldn't be concerned. dom has a bit of a crush on you. he was so high last night that he tried to make a song out of your name."

"say you swear," i glare at her.

"on everything." she laughs.

"he'll be on in a minute." alex returns with our drinks and plants a kiss on maddie's forehead.

"isn't this a dream neicey? remember in 5th grade we said that we'll get married to twins?" she reminisced.

"we got it close enough," i chuckled as the lights around the club dimmed. the stage was fully illuminated with dom sitting on a stool.

"thank you everyone for coming out tonight. this is the start of my music journey, and i thank all of my supporters and this label for giving me money to do what i love," dominics introduction earned quite an applause from the club.

"a week ago i was in a 4x4 in the county jail. now i'm spending it with all my family, friends and supporters at one the most popular clubs in florida. jesus christ you guys are awesome." he added. many people hoot and hollered from the crowd in response.

"enough with the sappy shit, aight? i'm bout to perform my new single with columbia records!" more people applauded and cheered as the music started to start.

"anais this is for you," he says into the mic just before he started to play his guitar to the building tune that i recognized. when i loved your body from your shoulder blades to your rollerblades. and you taught me how to leave heavy things in the moment thanks. i was younger than back then back in them olden days.

"i know he did not just dedicate his unreleased song to me," the shock soon rushed through my body. "i know he did not," i say louder, this time pointing towards alex and maddie. they both had widened eyes directed towards me.
