Sienna's Diary
Day 22Dear Diary,
Things are not okay as days go by.
Today, our company announced through e-mail that they will be laying off 20% employees. Imagine losing your job at this current state. I don't think there will be anyone who's take it light, knowing that it's not going to be easy to find a new one as well.
My boss called us through zoom and informed that at least ten to fifteen from our team will be part of it. Sad to say, I might be one of them. I don't want to assume but I've only been here for a year and a half, and compare to others, they are here for so long already.
When lunch break turns in, I call my parents and inform them what will possibly happen. They say that if I ever get to be one of those, I have to give up the apartment and go home to them, that's to at least save more. I tell them that if I have to go home, I'll use my camping tent first and camp out at the garage for 14 days before I get inside the house to ensure that I did not get the virus. They agree.
Another thing, my boss said that we will be called one by one to ask how are we, and then if we're one of the laid off employees, that's when we will be informed as well.
Anyway, I don't want to think harder for now.
