Crystal's P.O.V.
I had woken up early this morning, suprised to see the back of Kai's head as he was sitting on the couch. That's unusual for him to be awake this early on a Saturday.
"Kai?"
There was no response, so I walked around the couch to see his eyes closed and hear him lightly snoring.
Never mind, he's not even awake.
I snapped my fingers in front of him a couple times. He lazily opened his eyes, bringing his hands up and rubbing his eyes with his palms. "Ugh"
"What are you doing up, Kai?" Ignoring the fact that he had fallen asleep sitting on the couch.
"I didn't sleep well- yawn- We had an online pre-test that my Calculus teacher wanted us to do... yawn before class on Monday. I did it late last night, not expecting it to be 100 questions. I thought on level was supposed to be easier than Pre-AP or AP..." He groaned into his hands as he leaned forward.
I ran my hand through his hair to comfort him, gently working out the knots that were scattered throughout his messy hair. "Poor thing" I joked lightly, hearing a tired chuckle come from my roommate "Want to go get some coffee? If you're completely awake that is" I asked genuinely. I didn't want coffee, but I could go for some tea.
"Sure" He rubbed his eyes more before standing up and stretching.
"Though... you may want to get dressed first" I hold back a chuckle as I saw his white shirt and superhero pajama pants.
He looked down before his eyes widened and he bolted up stairs, hearing the door slam shut and muffled curses. I snickered at that.
Geez Kai, you're such a mess, but your my friend so I'll just have to deal with it.
Once Kai was done getting ready, we headed into town, passing by houses, shops, a lit of different places. We're heading to a well known coffee shop called Cosmic Caffiene , but they also sell tea and a few pastries and breakfast items.
Kai held the door open for me once we got there, the bell hanging above it ringing. I thanked him as I walked in, getting a quick 'welcome' from him. There was a small line, not many people up this early for coffee on a Saturday, but the rush would come soon. We got in line and waited, hearing the chattering of other people, staff making and calling out orders, the soft space music playing over the speakers. The stores colors were mostly black and purple, a few dark blues thrown in, to resemble a galaxy. White stars were painted on the walls, with a few planets among them. There were also some plastic stars and planets hanging from the ceiling. The dark colors created a soothing atmosphere.
"I'm gonna fall asleep in here if I don't get coffee soon" Kai grumbled next to me, rubbing his eyes again.
I quickly grabbed them and pulled them to his sides, "Quit rubbing your eyes. Your gonna irritate them" We moved up as someone finished.
"But I'm tiiiiiiiiiiired" He whined, slouching his shoulders, letting his head fall back and bending his knees slightly.
"Quit whining, Kai. You're gonna catch people's attention" I glanced around at the tables to see if they were paying attention. We moved up again.
"When did you start caring about what others think of us" He stood straight again and looked down at me, being a few inches taller "Where's the girl that would give anyone who looks weirdly at us icy glares?" He chuckled.
"Okay, first of all; I'm tired too. I'm not awake enough to glare at people. Secondly; don't say it like that. You're making us sound like a couple" I am kinda tired still, we didn't exactly eat breakfast. We're were second in line to order.
