*Beep beep beep-*

"Ugh"

Jewel slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes. Lara was curled up on the pillow next to her, purring slightly. Jewel gently pet her back, causing her to open her eyes sleepily and rub her head into Jewel's hand.

Pushing herself out of bed, Jewel lazily threw on a white camisole, a gray sweater, and a pair of jean shorts.

She carefully made her way downstairs, trying to not trip over herself or Lara, who decided to weave through her legs as she walked.

"Good morning, Jewel. Breakfast is on the table" Dad walked over to Jewel, brushing hair out of her face to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"Morning, Dad. And thanks"

Jewel plopped into a chair at the table, picking at her food slightly before actually eating.

"Sleep well?"

"Not really"

Jewel's dad, Ben, walked over to the table, gently stroking his daughter's hair.

Lara meowed from under the table, rubbing against Jewel's legs to try and ease her stress.

"Want to talk about why you didn't sleep well?"

"Well, remember when I told you about what happened yesterday? With Ramiel?"

Jewel began to talk to her father about the assignment, Lara listening to her girl's story as well.

Lara quickly dashed from under the table, up the stairs, and into Jewel's room. She hopped onto the dresser, where the necklace had been set the previous day. She carefully grabbed the pendant in her mouth before jumping down. Lara bounced back down the stairs, being careful not to drop, damage, or trip over the necklace. She padded over to Jewel's school bag that was left by the door. Lara nudged the flap of the bag open with her nose, delicately placing the necklace in a spot where it wouldn't be damaged. She walked to the other side of the bag, nudging it back over to close it.

Talking grew closer to the living room, causing the cat to turn to the kitchen. Jewel and her father walked through, seeming less tired after eating.

"Have a good day at school, Jewel"

"Thanks Dad!"

Jewel quickly slipped on her socks and gray flats. Lara meowed from beside her bag.

"Thank you too, Lara" Jewel pet her cat thankfully, who purred happily in return. Jewel swung her bag onto her shoulder, waving goodbye before disappearing the front door.

CB jumped off the bench on her front porch "Hey, Jewel! Ya ready to go?". Her hair tied back into a ponytail, goggles resting on her head, a brown jacket, cream tank top, knee high shorts, and boots with it's many pockets.

"You got here faster than usual" Jewel laughed "But yes, I'm ready to go"

The streets weren't as crowded as they usually were. Only a few students heading the same direction, since it was so early.

CB and Jewel made their way to the spot by the wall, sitting down on the bench to chat.

"Hey guys"

Demona and Angela walked up to the bench. Angela sitting on the bench next to CB, while Demona sat on the ground next to her. The angel was wearing a white tank top, skirt, and shoes, while her demon friend wore a black hoodie, jean shorts, and combat boots.

"Hey, Jewel, do you know that guy?" Angela gestured to someone sitting by the fountain.

Jewel raised an eyebrow, turning her attention to them as well. A familiar face looked back at her and winked while smirking.
