Chapter 3:Game Day

My first game was on Friday and they taught me there half-time but they said I could help come up with something new later. The day was going really well and it was Thursday as of right now I'm at lunch and for surely I still didn't eat much at all but that wasn't a big deal but I ate more then I normally did so I was happy with myself. 

After lunch I skipped study hall so I could go out and explore I know the guys didn't want me to be alone but I've been alone for 15 years with my abusive dad so I like being alone and that's not a problem at least for me. 

I didn't have a phone the kept offering to get me one but I was not gonna take anything else I'm sick and tired of them following me around and treating me like a lost puppy , and it's like every time they give me something I feel like its something I've lived without for 15 years so why would I need it now. 

Deep down I knew that the boys were searching for me but as of right now I just needed to be alone is that really that big of a deal. I could hear movement from the corner of the library an I just assumed it was one of the boys until a paper airplane flew and landed right in front of my book. 

I read the note and it was really scary but I was prepared for it. 

" We meet again well I meet you again cause I can see you but you can't see me. This time it will be different and they will fight for you. The time is yet to come you won't know when and you won't know how but all will be revealed just wait and I promise time will tell. "

As I finished the note I looked up with tears in my eyes and I saw Carson he just grabbed me and pulled me close and I gave up and I just cried and cried on his shoulder after he read it he picked me up and brought me I'm not sure where. It was a B day so I had science. 

He dropped me off at the door and went off to who knows where when I walked in Rodney looked me dead in the eyes and his eyes were full of anger I knew it wouldn't be good but I was just hoping he would wait for a while. 

Rodney didn't talk to me at all and just left after class I followed behind him to the field for cheer practice but I knew he was mad at me. When I arrived at practice we got straight to work we mainly talked about everything that would go on at the pep rally on Friday but after that we just went to the art room and made poster for the football game. 

Something all the girls kept mentioning was the fact that the game after this one was homecoming and that I had been nominated for homecoming queen. I wasn't sure what it meant so I figured I could as Grace when I got back to there house. 

As I was walking out the lady from the front office met me on the field as I was heading to the SUV she handed me an envelope and then just left. When we got into the car I opened it and it was this huge glittery paper with bold letters saying " You Were Nominated For Homecoming Queen Good Luck".

When I got back to the house I ran in and Grace looked at me as if I saw something get ran over. I went up to her and handed her the letter she opened it and screamed the next thing I knew everyone was surrounding us with guns out. I started freaking out I didn't know what was going on then all of the sudden they all lowered it. 

After she explained everything to me she told me that on Saturday we would go out and find a prom dress and a homecoming court dress. As I walked away I saw Carson walk in with the paper that the person sent me. I jumped on his back trying to get it off of him he just stood there and kinda hung out. 

As we were fighting people started coming in Luke tried to pry me off Carson's back but I couldn't let them see that letter. Right before he gave up James came over and grabbed the letter I screamed no but it was too late he had already read it. Once he read it they started passing it around until they all read it.
