I know its been more than a year I updated this. I had been busy with my 12th then now I am preparing for medical entrance also I was stuck about how to proceed the story. I am really sorry and please forgive me. Thanks :)
I was prepared. My mother had packed all the essential things for the camp in a backpack. She had reminded me thousand times to take my medicines at time.
Now I was sitting in my room and waiting for Clay to pick me up. Dean wanted to pick me up but I didn't want my father to question about him when I myself didn't know where did we stand.
Mom had put my Cell phone in the backpack and told me to call as much as possible. I knew she was going to call a lot.
The sound of a car horn made me to stand up and search for me backpack. I put it around my shoulders and proceeded down the stairs.
When I reached the living room, I sensed the presence of my parents.
I heard some shuffling and knew it was my mom when she took my hands in her.
"Take care sweetie and please be careful. Call as much as possible and if you don't feel good call me and I will pick you up. Okay?" Mom said worried. It was first time I was going out somewhere far without her.
I nodded my head and then I heard my father shuffling to his feet from the couch.
"Don't go alone anywhere in the woods. Its dangerous." Dad warned me though I could hear a tiny little worry seep into his voice. It was a very special moment for me. It made me realise though in a small corner inside his heart, I had a place.
I smiled and thanked him.
Mom took me with her outside and made me sit in Clay's car.
Clay greeted my mother and I heard her saying a greeting to my father which meant he was seeing me off. It made me happy.
I was smiling like a crazy fool. Clay started the engine and I wave a goodbye in my parents direction.
"So I guess, Mr.Stone dad is turning softer" Clay said. I knew she was wriggling her eyebrows.
"I think so. His attitude has changed a lot. It's like he is taking baby steps. But it's big for me that he is trying." I smiled.
"I really hope he becomes the loving father you want" Clay had a praying tone.
"I also want that but I am happy with what little I am having now. I never imagined this moment so it's very special for me."
We didn't talk again till we reached school.
As soon as we reached school, my door was opened and I was pulled into a chest. I realised it was Dean from the way he held me and his cool breeze scent.
I hugged him back and snuggled in his chest. After few moments we pulled back and he took my backpack but he held me in his arms.
"So excited about the camping trip?" Dean asked smiling.
"Yes, it's my first time and it's exciting though I cannot see anything." I replied.
"You can see that others cannot. You know the real beauty of everything. I promise you will enjoy it to fullest." Dean squeezed my waist.
I smiled at him and I knew he was going to make it special for me. He was special for me.
We were going to the camping destination in the school bus. So when teacher announced to submit the permission slips and board the bus, Dean led the way and submitted both of our slips and made me sit with him.
As we sat, I suddenly wondered I completely forgot about Clay.
"Wait! Where is Clay?" I asked.
"Don't worry your little best friend is having quality time with her boyfriend. She is sitting in the back and being all lovey dovey." Dean put a hand arround my shoulder "Now forget about her and let me be lovey dovey with you"
It made me blush and I lowered my head.
"I love your blush" He said and kissed my cheek. It made me blush harder.
I didn't know what was between us. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know whether we had a future or not but I wanted to live in my present and be happy.
The bus soon started and we were off to our destination.
"Dean, you like it here?" I asked him
"Hmm, I do because I found someone that I had been waiting for" He had an intense seriousness.
I couldn't help but blush like he was telling about me. I should control my fantasies.
"So you had anyone special before?" Dean asked
I shook my head knowing what he was asking about.
"Really?" He had a surprise tone
I nodded
"I am surprised. How can anyone resist such a beauty?" Oh god, he was going to kill me by making me blush.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" It blurted out.
"Do I need a reason?"
"It's just that people don't like me because I am blind." I remembered all those sad moments of rejection.
"It isn't your fault and just because you can not see, it doesn't define who you are. Your character defines you and I think you are the nicest person I have met and innocent too" I knew he was honest and it made my heart swell with happiness. I smiled at him and thanked him.
Rest of the journey passed with lots of more talks and playing games with all the students in bus. Overall it was fun.
