Andi Hamilton sat on the deck of the ship, her face a sickly green. Alexander Hamilton, her twin brother, sat next to her with the same sick look.
The waves hit against the ship causing it to rock, turning their stomachs into knots and ties. The salty sea air didn't help at all. Andi dropped her head onto Alexander's shoulder and closed her eyes. "Are we there yet?" Andi grumbled.
Alexander chuckled and leaned his head back. "Soon, I hope," he mumbled in response. They sat in a comfortable silence, listening to the breezes hit against the sails.
"What are you hoping to find in New York anyway, Alexander?" Andi asked after a few moments. "I personally was fine with clerking for mother's old landlord, but what's in New York?"
Alexander sighed and ran his left hand through his dark hair. "I want to fight in the revolution, settle down there if I survive, and live my best life there I guess..."
"And why did I have to come with you?" Andi sighed.
Alexander was quiet for a moment. "Andi, you're my twin sister. I've been with you all my life and it wouldn't feel right to leave you in that shit hole," he said finally.
Andi took her head off his shoulder and looked at him. "Alexander Hamilton! Language!" Andi scolded. Andi wasn't much of a curser, unlike Alex. "I swear, Alex, if you curse one more time-"
"Shit-" Alexander yelped and rushed over to the side of the ship, letting his dinner from last night escape. Andi groaned.
"You alright over there, Alex?" She called. Alexander continued to vomit and formed a thumbs up to show Andi. She sighed and stood up, but quickly forgot that she hadn't get gained her sealegs. She rushed over to Alexander and vomited along side him
"Well, it'll be over soon," Alexander groaned and pointed to where the ship was heading. The outline of land was just a night's trip away. "We'll be there by morning."
Andi smiled and looked down at the rolling waves. "Well, I think I have nothing to let go of anymore," Andi mumbled and walked back to where they were sitting before. She smiled and closed her eyes, and thought about all the things that could happen in New York. "After all, in New York you can be a new man," she sighed.
"But Andi, you're a woman," Alexander corrected.
"New man, new woman, new whatever," Andi frowned. "And hey, what if I'm secretly a man and just let my secret slip?"
"Andromeda, I'm sure we would've known if you're a man by now," Alexander sighed and walked back over to her. He sat down and sighed. "Oh! I almost forgot! There's something I wanted to give you before we dock." Alexander reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out a book. He handed it to Andi.
"Alexander you know I can't read-" Andi began. She looked down at the cover. "Common Sense... Wait... Since when can I read?!" Alexander turned to her with a smile.
"You really need common sense, Andi," Alexander said in a serious tone.
Andi gasped in shock. "Alexander, I have common sense!" Andi snapped. "If anything, you need it!" (Flash forward- "Take my guns" -Alexander Hamilton)
Alexander pulled Andi into a hug. Their faces were still a shade of green, and they still felt sick, but (idk where I'm going with this...) for the first time in the entire voyage, Andromeda and Alexander Hamilton were happy.
