Reth POV
Later that day, I found out we were really going to have guests, and not just simple guests, but special guest coming from far away, at least this was what Daniel had told me.
Armando must have told the truth then.
Since Drcaula announced to me that my blood became sweet to his tongue, and I had utterly lost any advantage I had on him, my anxiety rose up to the ceiling.
The count left soon after without doing anything to me, thankfully, but fearful thoughts kept me in bed all day.
What is he going to do now? What is he going to do to me?
I doubted that a great creature like him would pass on the opportunity of taking advantage of my poor situation, especially when it was written all over his face.
He could drink my blood at ease, he could also kill me, his intentions to do so had been shown that day, when he threw me to the ground with a punch.
But maybe...
Maybe what?
Maybe I will not be that bad, to be taken advantage of...As if would be the first time...
Indeed, it was not the first time people took advantage of me; they used to treat me as a machine that can do anything, but needs nothing in exchange, even if I was not that good at doing things. Maybe I had the face that called for it; for me to be bullied.
Well, the situation with Dracula was very different. He would not take advantage of me in the way that others did, he would do it otherwise.
The kissing scene played in my mind at immeasurable speed.
How damn good it felt. It felt good because it was a forbidden kiss, I was bitting, like Eve once into the forbidden apple of paradise.
And why it was forbidden?
Because my conscience said so. She said you can't fall for someone that wishes to harm you, you can't love a creature that is designed to do the evil, to kill, to...
Maybe he was not that evil, maybe history had interepreted his story in a way to put him in a bad spot.
And I kissed him back!
Don't get me wrong at this. I did it for my safety, thinking that once the count has ingested my blood, he will collapse under the power of the poison, and sleep, maybe for a week or two, while I could enjoy the full medieval life and celebrate my definite returning to this time period.
Hurried steps on the hall, passing in front of my chamber's door took out my attention from my thoughts and drifted it to what could be happening.
It was almost the time for dinner, the night already dropped its dark fog over us, as it was winter, but from the window I could spot a few lighted torches at the entrance of the castle and a bunch of people I never have seen, running around seemingly busy.
It's the guest, you dumb!
Before I could have another discovery, someone knocked on my door and opened it soon after.
Petrov entered slowly, his face showing a joy I never though he was capable of expressing. He had something hunged on his arm, and him as well had an entire different attire; different in a good way.
-The lord wants you to present yourself at dinner. He sent you new chlotes.
-Indeed?
Petrov was not interested into detailing more. He placed the clothes he had brought on the closest side of the bed and left the room.
