Bye Bye Baby -Chapter 8

I spin around at the sound of a familiar voice. My eyes open widely. "Do my eyes deceive me?" I ask as I wrap one of my best friends, Josh Hyland, in a hug. A second later, Paige bursts through the door of my hospital room, and we both shriek while tightly squeezing each other. "Sorry, Brooke couldn't make it!" Paige frowns while I shrug my shoulders and smile. Paige raises and eyebrow and motions towards Ethan. Almost forgetting he was there, I turn to him. "Paige and Josh, this is Ethan. Ethan, these are my best friends Paige and Josh." Everyone exchanges hellos and Ethan leaves for physical therapy. "So... Who's Ethan?" Paige asks while smirking. "He's a.. Friend." I explain while nodding, trying to believe that myself. "Yeah, a friend who wants to bang you." Josh harshly interrupts as Paige rolls her eyes. Josh and I have always liked each other but we've never done anything about it because were like brother and sister. For the first time in a while, I feel comfortable. Knowing that I have these two amazing friends by my side is definitely reassuring.
After a super long night of laughing and having fun with Paige and Josh,
I'm thankful that it's Saturday. My eyes open slowly as I hear a slight knock on my door. I sit up on my bed, yawn, and wipe my eyes. I start to walk towards my door as I hear "hey, Chloe, are you awake?". My heart skips a beat. It's Ethan. "Yeah, hold on a sec!" I shout sleepily while rushing around my room. I put my messy hair in a bun, not realizing I'm in short plaid shorts and a pink tank-top. I turn to the door and slowly jolt in open. "Hey gorgeous." Ethan smiles which makes me blush. "So what's up?" I ask curiously. "Can we talk for a minute?" I nod and let Ethan into my room. We sit down, me on my bed and him on the lime green couch across the way. "So... That Josh kid... Boyfriend?" Ethan ponders while waiting for me to answer. I raise an eyebrow at him and shake my head vigorously. "Why would you think that?" I ask peculiarly. "I don't know. You guys just seemed really close in that way." I contort my face into a perplexed look, wanting Ethan to continue. "Listen... Chloe I like you. A lot. I want us to be "a thing". A smile flies across my face when I realize that Ethan is jealous of Josh. "Josh and I are just friends." I assure Ethan. "And I would love for us to be "a thing." I giggle, almost mocking him. He gently kisses my forehead and we hug. Everything seems perfect right now. But little did I know, things would turn on a dime...///MORE? Comment thoughts please!
