CHAPTER 8

I'm back yall!

Man were you ever not going to have an awkward encounter with Ronin. At this point, it seemed like that was unlikely, but he did say you were cute sooooo.... that was cool I guess. ''He probably didn't mean to say it.'' You thought. You didn't think you were attractive let alone cute, so there was no way that he had meant that.

The day was slow and there was no one in need of your assistance so you decided to take a short walk into the woods to see if you could find any useful plants to add to your stores. Everyone else seemed to be busy so you thought you would just slip away and then come back just as quickly and no one would even notice that you were gone. You left a note on your door where someone would see it if they came looking for you. The sky was pretty cloudy but you knew it would be fine for a short walk. Emphasis on short, and as we all know, things never go as planned and that is just what happened in your case.

The sky was getting darker and the air was colder. To be honest you may have taken a wrong turn at that rock... Or was it that other rock?

''Ugh! Why do I keep doing this stuff? Man, you would think I would have learned after such a long line of bad luck.'' You said out loud. You were in the forest, cold, slightly damp, lost, and alone, well you thought you were alone. You hoped you were alone, you shivered at the thought of someone else being in the forest watching you.

What you didn't know was that whilst you were gone some more boggens had attacked, The leafman guards knew what they were doing what they didn't know was that they had unknowingly sent a straggler in your direction.

(RONINS POV)

We were just getting back from the last skirmish with the boggens, It was strange really, they were getting more aggressive and strong lately. I usually didn't come back with this many injuries, it was nothing serious though I would probably just go to the medic, I didn't want to bother Y/n seeing as she would probably be busy with the others anyway.

Soon Finn came swiftly in my direction, the look on his face was one of urgency. He seemed out of breath.

''Have you seen Y/n?''

'' No, I thought she would have been helping the other medics.''

He shook his head.

''No one has seen her since this morning, and they don't know where she went."

I started to panic a little but I didn't show it.

''Have you checked her room.''

''No sir.''

I nodded a goodbye to Finn and headed swiftly in the direction of Y/n's room, I wanted to run down the halls but I kept my composure as I made my way to her room.

I knocked urgently and called her name but got no answer. I cautiously opened the door remembering what happened last time I had just burst in, not going to lie I wouldn't mind being in that situation again, after all, Y/n was pretty amazing...Wait what? I was worried about her safety! Stick to the thought at hand Ronin! Get yourself together. I entered the room and to my dismay, you weren't there. I looked around frantically suddenly seeing a note stuck to the door.

To anyone who is looking for me,

I just went out for a short walk, I will be back soon.

I began to really panic now, Finn says that nobody had seen you since this morning, You had been gone all day. I had to find you. I ran off into the forest in a direction I thought you might have gone, I got extremely lucky and managed to find some footprints that seemed to match your foot size, I let out a sigh of relief. Perhaps you had just gotten lost and I would find you somewhere just strolling along and you would just say you had lost track of time.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a shriek, I don't know how but I just knew it was yours. I ran in that direction and then became more cautious as I reached the scream, I hid in some brush as I circled the area quietly. When I got to the clearing you were in, I began to boil with anger at the sight before me, You were bruised, scraped, and bleeding from your lip and various other cuts. The boggen was bigger than your average boggen, and he seemed to be enjoying what he was doing. Your sobs wrenched at my heart as you began to scoot backwards in an attempt to get away.

''P-please s-stop.''

Your back hit a tree as you moved back as far back from your attacker as you could. You pulled your knees to your chest and started to sob as the boggen advanced. You started to shake slightly as you squeezed your eyes shut. All of this happened in a matter of seconds as I charged the Boggen.

I got the element of surprise but that didn't help me much as my opponent was stronger than usual. My sword had been knocked from my hand and it turned into hand to hand combat with my eventually overtaking the boggen and finishing the fight. (Sorry if this scene was a little lame I am still figuring out how to write combat)

I turned back to your trembling form.

''Y/n?''

No answer. I crawled right up to you and put my hands on your knees, still no reaction. Your breathing was erratic and panicked. I cupped your face in my hands, you seemed to stare right through me.

''Y/n you need to calm down. Everything is ok, see? I am here now, just breath.'' I said trying to bring you back from your panic attack. It seemed to work as your breathing became more even and your eyes unclouded, after a while, you seemed to be better.

''Ronin?'' You asked, your voice hoarse from your attack, and the mental fatigue that went with that.

''Yes, it's me. Y/n you are ok now, no one is going to hurt you.''

You began sobbing as you collapsed into my arms and I sat there holding you for a while.

''We need to go, we don't want to run into anymore boggens.''

You nodded, you looked exhausted. I put my arm around your waist to support your weight and I was supporting more than was probable normal. We neared Moonhaven and Finn came jogging up to us.

''Ronin! You found her. What happened?'' He said looking at you, you returned with a weak smile.

And with that, you collapsed succumbing to the calm darkness.
