For the rest of the week Colton was not in school. Thank God.

But as much as I didn't want to admit it, I kind of missed him. Well I'm trying to convince myself that it is my wolf that misses him, her mate. She misses the way he looks at us, how his eyes light up when we walk through the door, how he stares at our body when we- No! He's an arse and my wolf is just love struck.

But I can't deny that little part of me that misses seeing his handsome face, even if I hate him I can't deny how good looking he is.

My wolf was sick with worrying about him, I couldn't care less really. Or that's what I keep telling myself. I can't forgive him for what he did.

Or can I?

I've been so stressed. I hate the effect he's having on me.

Today's Friday and the final bell just rang out so that means the sweet freedom of the weekend has begun. I grabbed my belonging out of my locker and started off. I buried my hands my pockets as I walked through the hallways and found a piece of paper. To my delight it was money! In town there is a new sweet shop that has just opened. It sells all the sweets that you could think of, and I heard it's really cheap so that's a bonus in itself. I got my purse out of my backpack and put the money in there, rushing out of school I slung my backpack over my shoulder and shoved my purse into the back pocket of my jeans.

I walked the opposite way from my house in the direction of town. I love how my mum picked a house that was such a short walk to my school and to town. My mum's lazy, just like me.

I pulled open the door to the sweet shop and the little bell dinged. I heard a voice coming from the back.

"Our first costumer!"

A little old lady came shuffling out of the back door. She was about 5ft and had grey hair that was in tight curls, she wore a frilly pink dress with an apron on and in the bottom corner written in italics was the shops name. Sweet Freak.

"Hello my dear, how may I tickle your fancy this evening?"

I laughed.

"Do you have the willy wonka sweets, I think they're called nerds"

"Oh yes they're out in the back I just ask my grandson to get them for me one second- Colton! Colton! We need nerds!"

She hobbled off towards the back while I giggled again. She was so sweet and adorable it was too much to handle. Her grandson must have a fun time in this shop, what was his name again? Chris? Callum? Oh shit.

Colton.

I was about to turn and run when the back door opened again.

"Don't worry grandma I'll give them to her"

He walked out of the door backwards, turned and then froze. I did the same. How can a sweet old lady like that have a grandson like him?

"Hi"

I looked down at the floor and didn't reply. Colton made his way to the cash register and pushed a few buttons then cleared his throat.

"That will be two dollars please"

I pulled my bag off my back and then hurriedly tried to find my purse, I heard him chuckle as I got angry at my backpack because I couldn't find my purse.

"I swear I put it in here"

He came round the side of the counter and stood in front of me. I stood still and clutched my backpack to my chest. He came right up to my face and then reached around me into the back pocket of my jeans and pulled something out. In his right hand he held my purse. He smiled.

"Looking for this?"

I went bright red.

"Yeah, thanks"

I reached out my hand to take my purse but he pulled it back, he took my backpack from me and put my purse in there along with the sweets.

"Don't worry I'll put a money in the register later, you can have them"

I couldn't move.

This isn't the Colton that I use to date, he's nicer. Maybe he has changed, I doubt it. I wanted to say thank you and then demand that I pay anyway but this came out of my mouth instead.

"Why weren't you in school all week?"

I didn't know why I asked him, oh god now he's going to know that I've been thinking about him. He smirked.

"Did my little mate miss me?"

With that remark I took a step back, I didn't realise how close we were.

"I just didn't see you, that's all"

He sighed and didn't reply for a moment, it was like he was thinking over what he was going to say.

"I was helping my Grandma with the shop, and I don't think I could have took seeing you every day and knowing that because of my actions I can't have you. And that it doesn't matter how many times I apologise that you'll never forgive me, I don't know what I'm going to do when I go back I mean, we are in all the same lessons"

He chuckled then rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

I didn't know what to say. Was he really sorry, nowadays I couldn't tell. My wolf was clawing at my insides trying to get out, to get to him. I shook my head.

"I'll just give you the money now"

I reached for my bag but he quickly held it behind his back.

"No no, it's my treat to you."

I blushed again.

"Fine, but can I have my back pack please"

He smiled down at me, I never realised how tall he was until now.

"On one condition, When you see me could you smile at me and maybe say hi? You dont have to mean it, it's just that my wolf needs just a little interaction with his mate; I need interaction with my mate"

"I don't know, I don't want anything to do with you it just brings me heart ache and I can't handle it"

"Please, and I'll leave you alone I promise"

I really didn't want to, every time I look at him I wish that he wasn't my mate. As bad as it sounds I just feel so caught up in what happened last year It's like every time I see him I remember him shouting that word at me. Slut. I sighed.

"Fine but for your wolf, not for you"

The biggest grin in the world came onto his face then he pulled me into a bone gripping hug.

"Thank you so much"

"It's- okay"

He was holding me tightly but gently, like he always does. But then I felt something squeeze my bum.

No he didn't.

"You're such an asshole"

I punched him in his manhood and whilst he was gasping for air I grabbed my backpack off of him and ran out of the door. I really thought he was changing, everything he was saying to me. But then with one move he set himself back to square one.

I guess he can never just be happy with a little bit of me, He wants all of it.
