WILL'S POV

It was dinner time on the last day of our first week of school when the letter arrived.

Normally, it would have been sent via an IM, but we - as in, the Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and Norse groups as a whole - had begun to suspect that someone was eavesdropping on them, so the most important messages had to be sent via things like owls or nature spirits.

I was the only one in our room when it arrived, as I had stayed to finish my homework before heading to dinner. That was set aside the moment the letter arrived, and then fully abandoned once I had read through it.

I sprinted from the room, heading straight towards the great hall, my mind alit with the implications of the letter's contents.

I was so distracted that I almost ran straight into Storm. She side-stepped me easily, and then took pity on me and grabbed my arm to stop me from tumbling down the stairs.

"What's got into you?" she frowned, crossing her arms over her chest once I was safely back on my feet.

"Letter," I said cryptically, brandishing it, "C'mon."

She didn't get a chance to reply before I took off again. I guessed correctly that she would follow me out of pure curiosity.

When I reached the great hall, she was right behind me, despite me having had a decent headstart. That wasn't at all surprising, given that she was a huntress, but the fact that she was shorter than me always threw me off.

I led the way into the great hall, Storm on my heels. I headed for Nico first. He was sitting next to Alex at the Slytherin table and looked up as I approached, frowning when he saw the look on my face.

"What is it?" he asked once I was within earshot.

"Long story, not for here," I replied hurriedly, "I'll go get Magnus. You guys can head back up to our dorm if you want."

"I'll come with you," Nico offered.

I smiled softly at him, prompting both Storm and Alex to fake gagging.

"I will not," Storm decided once she had finished her dramatic performance and cast a glance out at the hall, the entirety of which seemed to have taken great interest in her, "This had better be worth it Solace."

"It is," I promised.

"Hmm," she hummed disbelievingly.

"It is," I insisted.

"I'll believe that when I see that," she said, before turning on her heels and striding away.

Alex fell into step beside her, and Nico and I ended up following behind them as we made out way around the tables to the Hufflepuff one.

Magnus ended up meeting us halfway, which made our job easier.

We made short work of the trip back to our dorm room. Alex and Storm, who had both been lounging on the couches, stood up when we arrived, appearing equally impatient.

"Well?" Alex prompted, "Are you going to tell us or leave us guessing?"

"Right," I said, taking the letter out of my pocket and depositing it on the table for them to crowd around.

"They really found it?" Magnus asked, seemingly the first to finish reading.

"Sounds like it."

I shouldn't be so excited about my friends finding the site of at least two child sacrifices, but I couldn't help it. This was huge.

"Greek symbols?" Storm mused, "Well, that narrows it down."
