9:33, approximately 13 hours before death

C.C. woke up, to see Lelouch before her, standing in a robe, fiddling with something.

She rubbed her eyes, confused, before remembering they had watched a movie together. She must have fallen asleep at some point.

"Are you awake?" Lelouch set down what he was doing, and C.C. saw he was writing something on a piece of paper.

"I just finished taking a shower, and the bathroom is now free, so you can go use it." Lelouch stood, and disappeared behind the fogged glass bathroom doors, before returning with a bathrobe similar to his and some towels.

"I'll leave, so tell me when you'll be done. I'll be in the parlor, so just knock on that door when you finish."

And he left.

C.C. stood, waiting until the door fully closed to begin undressing.

Their conservative relationship was laughable, to be honest. It was rare they ever slept separate, since Lelouch often woke up in the middle of the night, complaining of headaches and nightmares. Then C.C. decided to stay in his room for a night, to see what would happen, and Lelouch did not wake up once during his sleep at all.

C.C. turned the hot water on, watching as the porcelain tub fill up with clear, glistening glass. Puffs of steam rose softly, basking the room in a lazy stupor.

She got in, feeling her tense muscles relax as the water washed over her skin, seeming to seep through her conscious, making her thoughts hazy and scattered. C.C. didn't mind, in fact, she wished she could forget everything.

She pressed a small button, and instantly, bubbles began rising, bursting at the surface, the rumbling water roiling comfortably over her body.

She sunk her head under the water, closing her eyes.

The geass mark below her breast glowed softly.
