It was my least favorite class of the day. Biology. The only thing that made it somewhat enjoyable was the fact that I got to sit next to my best friend Robbie. We had been friends for what, 3 years now? It was one of those friendships where there was no question about who would have feelings for the  other. But now...? I wasn't too sure about that.

"Yann!"

"Huh?" I mumble, realizing I had been slowly drifting off.

"I've said your name 3 times!" Robbie whispers, a smile playing across his lips.

"Sorry, I guess I fell asleep." I say, rubbing my eyes tiredly. He just shakes his head and turns to look at the teacher for a second. His smile left me staring, like it had for a while now.

This had been happening more and more the past month or so. I would catch myself staring at him, or admiring the way he did simple things. I would also get butterflies whenever he talked to me, smiled at me, or did anything in general. Sometimes he would catch me staring, and just laugh or just smile at me. I didn't know if he could tell I had feelings for him or not, but I was hoping not. If he knew, our friendship would most likely be ruined.

"So, Yann, I was wondering..." Robbie said, leaning closer to me so the teacher wouldn't hear him. "Do you want to come over after school? To study for the test I mean." I was practically shivering at how close he was to me, his lips almost brushing against my ear.

"Oh um, yeah. Sure. I will just-"

"Yann, pay attention please." The teacher said, directing the entire class's attention to the back of the room where we were.

"Sorry." I say, looking down guiltily. I glance over to Robbie and see him barely holding in a laugh. I punch him playfully, and he gives me a look of mock pain while holding on to his arm.

"That means you too Robbie." The teacher said, not even turning away from the board. Robbie puts his hand to his chest in playful surprise, his mouth open in shock.

"Ha." I whisper to him in triumph.

"Whatever. So, what do you say?" He asks me.

"Sure. I'll just ride home with you, if that's okay?" I ask.

"Yeah of course." He smiles, and with that, we both return to 'listening' to the most boring class in the history of school.

I walk out of the school, shielding my eyes from the sun with my hand. I search for Robbie in the parking lot, and soon find him when he waves at me. I put my bag in the backseat of his car, and sit in the passenger seat beside him.

"Ready for some serious study time?" He asks seriously.

"Well of course." I say sarcastically, and he chuckles his usual captivating laugh. And with that, we pulled out of the crowded parking lot to head for his house.

"Mommm I'm home! I brought Yann too!" He yells from the front door, taking my bag  from me.

"Hi dear! I didn't know you were coming...?" She says, eyeing Robbie. He just shrugs with a smile on his face.

"Well.... We're going up to my room now. Bye!" He says, and drags me up the stairs being him.

We both sit on his bed, and he changes into a more comfortable shirt and some sweatpants that hung low on his hips... Oh god. How I supposed to concentrate with him looking like this.

"So, where do you want to start Yann?" He asks, sitting across from me on the bed. Where to start? That was the question. Only I wasn't thinking about Biology. I was thinking of how I would tell him. I really wanted to, but I was way too shy. Just start slow, and take it from there.

"Well, actually, I wanted to tell you that-"

"Hey I got food for you guys!" Robbie's mom says, walking into the room with a plate full of crackers and mini sandwiches.

"Thanks mom." He says, taking a sandwich. I smile, taking one as well. She sets the plate down between us before leaving the room.

"So, you were saying?" Robbie says, taking a few crackers and stuffing them in his mouth.

"Oh, um its nothing." I stutter, taking a cracker.

"Oh, okay. Well I wanted to ask you something." He says nervously. Wait a second... Could it be?

"There's this girl I like. And I have no idea if I, or how, I should tell her." He says. I could literally feel myself breaking into a million pieces. He didn't like me...

"Well, uh, do I know her?" I ask quietly, trying to act normally.

"Um yeah I'm pretty sure you do. She's in our Biology class." He says.

"Well, if you have her number... Just tell her. Text her or call her or something. Um, I need to go to the bathroom. I'll let you talk to her in private." I say, barely able to hold in my tears. I rush to the bathroom without a second word, and sit on the toilet lid with my head in my hands.

Ring! Ring!

What? I pull out my phone and realize that Robbie was calling me.

"Um, hello?" I ask, sniffling.

"Yann, I need to tell you something." He says. "Can you come back please?"

"Sure..." I say, and hang up the phone. I look at my reflection in the mirror, trying to look somewhat normal again.

I walk back into his room avoiding his gaze, sitting across from him on the bed again.

"Yann, I wanted to tell you that... I know that you like me." He said, looking into my eyes.

"What?" I choke. He couldn't know...  "How?"

"Yann, you stare at me half the time when you think I'm not looking." He teases, causing me to blush in embarrassment. "And you basically ran out of my room crying. You seriously think I couldn't tell?"

"I just... I guess not." I mutter.

"Why didn't you ever tell me?" He asked, grabbing on to my hands.

"I didn't think you felt the same way... And I didn't want to ruin our friendship." I say, looking down at our joined hands.

"Yann." He says. I don't look at him, just shake my hand. "Yann, look at me please." He touches my cheek, making me look into his deep green eyes.

"Yann, I like you too. A lot." Wait what? He liked  back?

"Really?" I ask, completely in shock.

"Really." He smiles, scooting closer to me. "I've known you for 3 years, and I can honestly say that... I love you Yann. I really do."

"I, I love you too." I say, tears of happiness pricking my eyes.

"Yann?" He whispers, our faces impossibly close to each other.

"Yes?"

"If you don't mind, I would like to kiss you now." He says, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"Then why don't you?" I whisper, and he laughs at my response, putting both of his hands on my cheeks to pull me even closer.

And we did.
