"Jebediah Schlatt, huh?" Jessica repeated, in confusion. "Who is that, Jimmy?"

"Well- about that, I know him by name but that's about it. He was an average youtuber until one day his business took off, the man became a millionaire overnight" Jimmy scratched the back of his head. "You know him, Felix?"

Felix gave a small sigh. "I'm afraid I know no more than you do, apparently he was popular for being chaotic and I know he has ties to Wilbur, it sort of makes sense."

Jimmy nodded in agreement. "I think it's best if we look into that theory for now, and if we're going to leave the grotto I think it's best if we look to make alliances."

"Good plan, most of the contestants are against a killing game so I think they'd be willing to parley" Jessica went silent for a moment. "But there is a chance we'll get attacked, by Error's or other teams. Look what they've done to me already." She huffed, pointing at her injured leg.

Just then Felix had an idea.

"No, we shouldn't worry about that. We have a secret weapon on our side!" He pointed at Jimmy.

"Hm, where are you going with this?" Jimmy inquired.

"Everyone here signed up to win YOUR contest, Jimmy" Felix remarked. " The people here trust you, which already makes us good candidates to ally with. But, you Jimmy, have something to offer them!"

Jimmy and Jessica glanced at each other, and then back at Felix.

"You can offer money! It will work- it's why they're here in the first place and the transaction can only take place if both parties make it off the island alive which means-"

Jimmy rested his chin on his hand, pondering the concept. "So, you're saying we can basically bribe the contestants into allying with us, and they'll be basically bound to help keep us alive?"

Felix nodded.

"That's only if it come to it, though. Jimmy already had knowledge of the entire island. They'd be stupid not to ally themselves with us unless they were already allied with the Errors." Jessica interjected.

She has a good point. Felix thought to himself. He was a bit mad at himself for not thinking about that fact first. He didn't want Jimmy to think that he only saw him as some guy with money. He thought of Jimmy as a friend, and didn't want to upset him or seem shallow.

"...Sorry" Felix muttered, under his breath.

"Hm?" Jimmy tilted his head in confusion and directed his gaze at Felix.

After a few brief moments, but what felt like forever, he retracted his gaze to where his eyes met with Jessica's.

She nudged herself against the side of a tree and used the tree trunk to hoist herself up to a standing position, she winced slightly in pain but quickly recovered.

"How about we split up then? Jimmy can search for allies, Felix and I can go patrol and collect intel and we'll meet back here tomorrow" Jessica suggested.

Felix nodded. "I can't in good conscious let you go by yourself, Jessica. You can barely stand, let alone fend for yourself."

Jessica looked down sadly. "I can walk- I just won't be able to run"

"Go with her, Felix. I'll be fine by myself." Jimmy smiled. "We'll split up the food in my bag" He reached into his bag and passed Jessica and handful of granola bars and two bottled waters.

Jessica reached into her pack pulling out a small dagger in a sheathe. "The Errors left it in one of my old teammates. It's sharp, but you should probably take it Jimmy." She said while handing him the dagger.
