I look out the window and watch the scenery go by as we drive.

Noah's parents are in the car ahead of us. They figured we should take separate cars.

Our driver is quiet as we drive.

Noah's hand is resting on my thigh and I can feel him watching me.

"What are you thinking Montgomery?" He asks.

I turn towards him.

"I'm scared." I tell him honestly.

"I know. But my dads a great lawyer and he'll do his very best to put that man away." He tells me.

I nod and we're both quiet for the rest of the ride.

When we pull up the court house there's a few people outside.

We climb out of the car and walk over to Noah's parents.

We're about to walk inside when someone catches my eye.

"Mom." I state after walking away from the Becks.

"Oh. Hi Alexis."

"Who's this?" I ask gesturing towards the man standing next to her.

"Oh him? This is Marks Attorney." She tells me.

I feel a pull at my heart knowing she's here today, not to defend her own daughter but, to defend the very man who's made my life hell for almost 4 years.

"Good luck." I say coldly before walking away.

"Hey." Noah says as I come over to him.

"Hi." I say lowly.

"Let's go." He says placing his hand on the small of my back leading me inside.

After everyone is in the court room and situated, they bring mark out. He's wearing a orange jumpsuit and his hands are handcuffed behind his back.

His officer leads him to the table where his attorney is and takes his handcuffs off. He rubs his wrist as his attorney speaks lowly to him. He looks up and around the room and stops when he sees me. He slowly and evilly smiles and I turn away quickly.

I turn around and glance at Noah who's sitting behind me and Dave, along with his mother.

'I'm right here.' He mouths and I smile and nod before turning around.

The judge walks out and takes her place on her stand. He looks around the room before tapping the gavel and quieting everyone down. Everyone sits and stops talking.

"Good morning everyone. Today we are here with Mr. Roberts and Ms. Montgomery." She looks between the both of us before continuing.
"We are here today under the assumption that Mr. Roberts has physically and verbally abused Ms. Montgomery. I would like to talk with Mr. Roberts first."
