I joined ABT's JKO school just a little under 4 years ago. I attended on full scholarship (probably because I was a boy!). I met Elizabeth during her first year at the school. She was fourteen, I had never had the guts to ask her out on a date! I always admired her dance abilities and her personality. She was such an amazing person.
I was lucky enough to get a spot with the ABT studio company when I was 18, Elizabeth joined the studio company at age 16 because she was incredibly talented. During our year together in the studio co. we were put together as dance partners. I always had thought that she had hated me because I broke up with her best friend Rachael.
When I was 19 I was asked to be apart of the ABT corps de ballet. Elizabeth was not offered a spot until she was 17 she was offered the spot of soloist! At age 17 that's unheard of! There is always tons of jealousy between company members, they say that she is the favorite so why should they try.
To be honest I was a little jealous to, I mean I was apart of the company for almost a year! But once she became a member I was immediately promoted to the soloist rank and we were yet again put together as pas de deux partners.
I'm honestly so excited that we are partners and tonight will be amazing! I hope everything goes as planned.
