I took a subway to get down to Lincoln Center. I was very nervous, the whole ride there I was squirming in my seat trying to remember my corrections from rehearsal and trying to block out my distractions.
The theater was packed full of New York Times reporters, rich actors and actresses trying to be seen and contributors also along with some of my fellow company members who would not be performing tonight.
I entered into my single person dressing room to find a bouquet of flowers on my table with a Note from Max that read,
"So excited to kill it in Le Corsaire pas with you tonight <3"
I finished reading the note then I heard my door open. It was my makeup lady Natasha
" Darling are you ready for a fabulous show or what?!"
" Ready than I'll ever be!" I replied
" I'm so proud. Of you, you are so talented and deserve everything that you have! I hope you know that!"
" thank -you"
***************************
"5 MINUTES TO SHOW" the director yelled. As I was walking down the hall towards the stage I ran into Max.
"Hey I was looking for you" he gave me a hug " I'm so excited for tonight! We've been working so hard! I hope we kill it. Did you get my flowers?"
"Ya I did thanks so much! They are beautiful. Can't wait for dinner after this!"
" me too!"
We walked toward the stage. When it was our turn to dance our Le Corsaire pas we mesmerized the audience everyone loved it! We got a standing ovation. The only one in the whole show.
"Absolutely amazing you two!" Said the director of the company "this is going to be a great season I can tell, be prepared to dance a lot Elizabeth and Max!"
"Thank-you" we both replied!
