I sit back and hug the blanket that Seokjin provided for me. It’s soft and smells nice, similar to my blankets at home. After listening to Taehyung speak for a long time about how he lied and what the real truth is, I need this comfort more than oxygen. Taking a glance at the man in front of me, I decide to speak. “So… to recap everything so that I understand…” I take a deep breath and run my fingers through my hair. “You lied when you said that you didn’t know me. You actually know more about me than my own family. You’ve been watching me ever since I moved in, and you’ve just been trying to find the right time to speak to me?”

Taehyung grins shyly and nods. “You make it sound way better than it actually is.” He looks away from me and out the window, towards the amazing garden outside. “When you first moved in, I thought you were really cute. I-I still think you’re really cute… But I could never find the right time to talk to you.” He scratches mindlessly at his head and looks anywhere but at me. “You were so well put together and you were happy. I didn’t want to intrude on that. Then, after the whole Nathaniel situation… I just wanted to comfort you.”

The thought of Nathan sticks in my head any time I hear the name. My ex boyfriend. He wasn’t good for me and I didn’t notice until it was too late. Black eyes covered with tons of makeup, bruises hidden by my scrubs at work, a couple broken bones… It was a nightmare. He was someone that I thought I loved, but he didn’t love me back. No, Nathaniel was not capable of love. One day, after we had been together for a year and a half, he left the apartment after a big fight and never came back. Never tried to contact me, I never heard about him from my friends or his. It was like he just disappeared.

“So, he may or may not have been taken care of by me and the boys.” Taehyung snap me out of my stupor when I hear his ominous words.

Immediately, my mind assumes the worst possible meaning of those words. “Y-You killed him?...”

“No! Oh my god, no! I-I didn’t mean it like that!” He gently facepalms and rolls his head back along his shoulders. “No, we didn’t kill him-”

“No matter how much we wanted to.” Seokjin interrupts Taehyung as he explains.

Taehyung clears his throat and sends a light glare towards his Hyung. “What I mean is- We threatened him. We pulled him aside after the last fight you guys had and gave him a little scare… before we all pitched in enough money for him to leave the city and leave you and all of his friends behind.” He spills the truth.

I squeeze the blanket tighter. “So… You had a crush on me, couldn’t tell me, and then threatened Nathaniel to leave me alone? And then didn’t comfort me afterwards?” I ask, thoroughly confused.

Taehyung chuckles nervously, “Oh, I tried to comfort you! I really did. Remember those ‘free samples’ you used to get in your mail of, like, clothing, chocolate, food, flowers, etcetera?”

I nod slowly and start to recall all of the samples. “Yeah… they weren’t actually free samples?” I tilt my head and watch him.

“No, those were from me.” I see the smile on Taehyung’s face grow into the boxy grin I’ve come to recognize over the last couple of days. “I would hear you cry or even just remember what had happened, and the urge to buy you things just… grew.” He admits.

Seokjin steps towards us and smiles wide as well. “Yeah, he would always ask us what he should get for you next time, or what color he should get the thing in. It got pretty annoying to be honest.” The tall man laughs heartily and watches Taehyung.

I sit back against the couch and start laughing. Loudly. I laugh so hard that I fear I might stop breathing.

Both the boys move back slightly in surprise over my sudden outburst.

“I-Is she okay?” Seokjin asks Taehyung quietly. His laughter subsided when he noticed me laughing so hard that tears were coming out of my eyes. “Her face is really red.. She looks like she’s about to start hyperventilating.” He points out.

Soon enough, my laughter turns into loud and heavy sobs, the shock leaves my system and all I’m left with is a panic attack. My face starts to go numb, and soon after, so do my arms and legs. My body has the intense need to be on the lowest surface I can get on. I feel the need to lay on the ground, but sadly, Taehyung has other plans.

His arms surround me and at first, I’m not quite sure what’s going on. When he starts to rock me back and forth, I squirm and shove him off of me. He fights against me. His arms squeezing me harder and harder, trying to keep me complacent. My sobs and screams get louder and louder. My lungs feel like they might burn to a crisp if I keep this up for too much longer. The older man’s arms around me shouldn’t feel comforting (considering that this man just confessed to him and his friends stalked me for three years), but they do… and that’s what scares me the most.

Taehyung tries to keep his voice steady and calm, “It’s useless. Jin Hyung, get the sedative.”

Taehyung tries to keep his voice steady and calm, “It’s useless. Jin Hyung, get the sedative.”

“Shh, shh.. It’ll be alright, I’ve got you.” Taehyung soothes me like one would a baby as everything around me starts moving slower and getting darker. “I promise that you will be okay, Y/N.” His words fade out as I’m left with nothing but darkness once again.
